My husband and I have a joint income of € 2550, which is deposited into our joint and/or account with both our names on it. Can I apply for a retired visa O for my husband and for me with the same income proof? I only have a state pension and that is not enough.

Reporter: Jozef I looked at the website of the embassy in The Hague today. The Non-Immigrant O visa for retirees requires a financial income of 65.000 baht per month or a credit of 800.000 baht. This seems like a lot to me for a visa that is only valid for 90 days. Response RonnyLatYa These are simply the requirements as laid down by Thailand for that specific visa. No one says that you...

I then want to extend my visa in Thailand or convert it into a visa “foreign husband stays with Thai national wife”. This on the advice of the immigration office in Thailand.

At the moment I am married, but the divorce started through a mediator / lawyer, the agreement was if our house, which is now for sale and will probably be sold quickly, the divorce will also be pronounced. I read here for “retirement visa” that, departing from a Non-O visa, you must have EITHER 800.000 THB in your bank account OR at least 65.000 THB in Pension. Is that the current arrangement? Because last year I was told in Immigration Office Jomtien that from 2023 one had to have 400.000 THB (?) in a Thai bank account for a number of months and not either or.

My annual visa will expire soon. There is 800.000 thb in my bank account, which is normally 3 months in advance. Now I come across an Englishman here and he says that you can get a new annual visa in Pattaya in one day for 15.000 thb and you don't need to have 800.000 in your bank account.

I have a question regarding an annual extension. I now prove 800.000 baht in a Thai account through the bank, but next time I want to switch this to monthly payments of my pension when I extend it. how does this actually happen? It is to say how should this be passed on to immigration? Do I have to request this document from the pension service of monthly deposits, or is it sufficient via a bank statement?

I have a question regarding my next year extension (the 5th) based on retirement. My current extension runs until the end of January 2023. So I would go to immigration at the beginning of January 2023. Until the beginning of September, my bank account was always an account at a Kasikorn branch in Koh Samui where I stayed a long time ago. I have been living in Jomtien for a few years now.

Summarized again. For tourist reasons, Dutch and Belgians can stay in Thailand for a period on the basis of “Visa Exemption”, ie a visa exemption. You do not need a visa then. You don't have to apply for it in advance. You get that automatically from immigration at passport control in Thailand. Upon arrival, the Immigration Officer will put an “Arrival” stamp in your passport with the date until when you are allowed to stay in Thailand. This period is therefore called the residence period. And that's all free.

I have an “o” retirement visa. Every year in April I apply for an 'extension of stay' with the 800.000 baht in the bank. The extension runs every time until May 16. Now this year I made a mistake by using money from that 800.000 baht too early. And this within those 3 months that this sum must remain in the bank after application (up to 746.583 baht. I topped up this sum back to 3 baht after about 800.000 months.

I read several times about an amount of money that must be in the bank to extend a visa. Is it now 400.000 baht if you have your own bank account and 800.000 baht if you have a joint account? It makes me doubt because at the end of November I have to extend my O visa.

I haven't been to Thailand in 2½ years due to covid. I have a bank account with the SCB and I understand that they no longer use bank books but that you get a document with some information on it.
I wonder how I can prove that a (visa) amount has been on my account for at least two months?

So far (until 2019) I have assumed that we had to have a large enough amount in a Thai bank to qualify for a Non-O with Retirement stamp. I recently read in an answer from you that this is not (any longer) necessary, in other words an amount equal to the number of months of stay multiplied by 1.000 euros per month can also be on a foreign account?
