In May 2013 I formally emigrated from the Netherlands to Thailand and have not left Thailand for a few years. I did get an exemption from paying social security contributions, but I didn't get this for payroll tax because my income, which consists of three parts, is entirely government-related.
We are leaving for Thailand soon. The first week we stay in Bangkok and look for a good hotel on Sukhumvit. Who knows there between Soi 16 and Soi 24 a nice hotel in the price range 1500 Baht?

I find transferring money via a Dutch bank to Thailand very expensive. ING bank uses 0,1% of the amount with a minimum of € 6 + € 25 depending on OUR or not. They use their own exchange rate, which is more than 1 point lower than the official exchange rate.
I am going to Thailand in September. I saw that my Thai driver's license was valid until May 2015. I rent a car and don't have time to spend a day renewing the driver's license first. I have a valid Dutch driver's license.
