In the small shop in town, run by a young qualified lady in her thirties, I unravel the secrets of Thai and Chinese medicine. Her treatments, ranging from massage to acupuncture and cupping, are aimed not only at relaxation, but also at long-lasting health benefits. As a Westerner, I experience this approach as both exotic and effective, a fascinating fusion of cultures and healing methods.
