Jesper Kwant studies at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen and is currently working on his graduation assignment. The subject of his graduation assignment is to investigate why Dutch people decide to buy/rent a home in Thailand and what their experiences are.
Also this year, the NVT closes the year with a barbecue. As in previous years, this will be held in the garden of Bistro 33. The barbecue will take place on June 1 from 17.00 p.m.

Once again the Remembrance Day 2019
The earlier message, that Thailandblog.nl and other social media, that the traditional Remembrance Day on the grounds of the Dutch embassy in Bangkok would not take place this year, went down the wrong way with many Dutch people in Thailand.
Remembrance Day May 4 at the Dutch embassy cannot take place
Due to the ceremonies from May 4 to 6 around the coronation of HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, the traditional May 4 commemoration at the embassy will not be able to take place.
Dutch embassy closed on April 22
Today the Dutch embassy is closed due to Songkran. Also on April 22 you can't go there because of Easter.

The Dutch ambassador to Thailand, Kees Rade, writes a monthly blog for the Dutch community, in which he outlines what he has been doing in the past month. The central event was of course the elections just over a week ago. After repeated delays, the time had finally come; Thai voters were able to vote again after almost 5 years of living under a military government.

In Thailand, the government has a number of specialized hospitals. In Isaan there is the Sirikit heart center in Khon Kaen and the Ubon Ratchathani the cancer center. Cancer research and treatment takes place in Ubon.
