Ask general practitioner Maarten: Medicine for COPD
I am 78 years old and I use Xoterna Breezhaler because I have COPD. I tried to get this medicine in Thailand, but in every pharmacy where I inquired she told me that she did not know about this medicine.
I have seen on the website of the Embassy of Thailand in Brussels that there are two types of non-immigrant “O” visa listed. One for family visits, the other as a retirement. Do you still need Thai health insurance if you apply for such a visa for retirement?
The Dutch war cemeteries in Kanchanaburi
A visit to Kanchanaburi War Cemetery is a captivating experience. In the bright, shimmering light of the Brazen Ploert blazing mercilessly overhead, it seems that row upon row of the clean-lined uniform gravestones in the trimmed lawns reach to the horizon. Despite the traffic in the adjacent streets, it can sometimes be very quiet. And that's great because this is a place where memory slowly but surely turns into history...
You experience everything in Thailand (133)
Things sometimes go differently in Thailand than we are used to in Belgium and the Netherlands. That often leads to nice anecdotes and funny stories, but also to annoyances. Our readers tell about what they experience in Thailand. Today it is Gerard who experiences a collision in Hua Hin. In the end everything went well thanks to the help of Thai and the car rental company.
In this photo series we highlight the many beautiful temples that are so characteristic of Thailand. Just like Buddhism, temples and temple grounds play an important role in social life in Thailand.
Thailand loves the French croissant
It seems that the Thai are currently going crazy for that greasy, sweet crescent-shaped breakfast roll called a croissant.
Buy data sim card in Thailand?
I will spend the winter in Thailand in the autumn (September) and will rent an apartment in the Pattaya, Jomtien area. I would like to use unlimited and good internet there with my laptop because I play bridge competition and would like to continue watching Dutch TV. As I have heard, there is often no or limited internet available.
Is there anyone who has experience with a translation agency in Bangkok who can translate my marriage certificate and birth certificate and have it legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs without me having to physically go there?
CBD oil available in Thailand?
For medicinal reasons I use CBD oil. In most countries in Europe, US, Canada, etc., this is now readily available and freely available even in pharmacies (drugstores). Does anyone have any experience with this beneficial drug? Also available in the meantime or possibly allowed in Siam in 2022?
How a wreath-laying was seen as an illegal act of resistance
The day after the 1947 coup, a teacher made the front page of a newspaper. It was December 10, 1947, Constitution Day, when this man came to lay a wreath at the Democracy Monument. That led to his arrest and made the front page of the Siam Nikorn (สยามนิกร, Sà-yǎam Níe-kon) newspaper. The headline read: “Man arrested for laying wreath”. Here is a short translation of this event.
COVID at homes RonnyLatYa
On Tuesday it was our turn. My wife developed a fever in the late evening. Up to 38,5 degrees. Headache, muscle pain, sore throat, some coughing... Self-test done and indeed COVID.
It was completely unclear to me whether I need to arrange a visa to stay in Thailand for 3 months. Just like corona measures, entry and residence rules were constantly changing.
My apologies for the late reply, but we were on a short break in Cha-am. It must be quite a change, because if I understand correctly, Aspent-m 81 mg and Tamsulosin (my pee is a weak trickle 😌) is enough to use. Or Doxazosin?
I have been in possession of a Non-O visa for years, with annual retirement supported by a bank balance of at least 800.000 baht. Have sufficient monthly income to also meet the requirement of at least 65.000 baht per month. Wants to switch to this and for that reason tries to obtain a visa support letter from the Dutch embassy.

Can it be even tastier?
It's been a while since I described all kinds of fruits that were unknown to us until then in my blog. Although these were almost without exception real delicacies, the first place in the tastiest fruit top ten was undisputedly reserved for the ripe sweet mango.
Can the saved data of the Thailand Pass be used more often?
I think I read somewhere that the data for the Thailand Pass can be used more often. I traveled to Thailand in December with a Thailand Pass, now I'm going again in June. Do I have to upload all data again or will the old data be kept and can I use it again?
