There is hope
There's a turd on the terrace. Well, that is not so special, because there is all sorts of things walking and flying around here and usually this “everything” does not take us into account when it comes to defecating.
Partying in Thailand
Today January 31, 2022, this should be another normal day in Thailand's national history. Yet it doesn't look like the way Lung Addie, in his so quiet jungle, awoke this morning.
Those who need a PCR test before returning to the Netherlands can do so without an appointment from 12.00:20.00 to 3.500:94 at the Memorial Hospital in the center of Pattaya. The costs for this are XNUMX baht (XNUMX euros).
I have been struggling with a nosebleed for quite some time (5 months), although the blood does not run from my nose, but is visible when I blow my nose. Now after I have already undergone some PCR tests, it comes out in a nasty way because there is blood on the stick.
Thailand Visa question No. 036/22: Non-immigrant O
Because my partner is in hospital in the Netherlands, I cannot extend my NON-O visa in Thailand.
Corona only expires at the end of January, but fly back to the Netherlands at the end of February?
I am in Thailand and fly back to the Netherlands at the end of February. Now there is news again from the GGD that the Corona Pass is no longer valid 6 months after the first vaccination, unless you have received a booster. So my Corona pass expires at the end of January, while I don't fly back to NL until the end of February. Will I have problems with that?
Where to open a Thai bank account?
I'm sure my questions have been asked before, but I'll ask them again. Want to open a Thai bank account in March because in the future will be staying there for a large number of months a year. What is the best bank in Thailand to open an account? What is the cheapest way to transfer a large amount from my Dutch bank to the Thai bank?
As for all the uncertainty about the proof of recovery for entering Thailand, I had contact with the Thai embassy in The Hague via messenger yesterday.
Thai language conforms to some universal rules
In the NRC of Friday January 28, there was an article about the similarity in many languages of sound and meaning in some words. The meaning of rough would be represented by words with a rolling -r- in many languages. The word for small often contains the vowel – ie- and the word for big contains the vowels – oo- and –aa–. How about in Thai?

Question to GP Maarten: Thai alternative to Acenocoumarol (anticoagulant medication)
I use Acenocoumarol on a doctor's prescription in the Netherlands and I have been living in Thailand since May 29, 2021. My initial intention was to stay here for a period of 6 months. When I left the Netherlands I therefore brought a large stock of Acenocoumarol tablets with me.
For my visa application, I must demonstrate that I have sufficient financial resources. However, I have multiple accounts.
Bang Rajan: a touch of Wahrheit and a lot of Dichtung….
Bang Rachan is a household name in Thailand. In fact, it illustrates how thin the line is in Thai historiography between Wahrheit & Dichtung. It's kind of like a Thai version of the well-known Asterix & Obelix stories: We go back to the year 1765. All of Siam is under the Burmese knot except for the brave inhabitants of one small village who stop the Burmese legions…

When applying for the Thailand Pass, I must, among other things, send (upload) my vaccination certificate. I have received the booster shot and my "international" corona proof therefore consists of 3 QR codes, i.e. 3 corona proofs. Am I now supposed to upload the three pages of QR codes when applying for the Thailand Pass? Or is it enough to only upload the last received QR code ( 3/3)?
Like the clock ticking at home
As the clock ticks at home…. it doesn't sound like anything. I estimate that the clock in our room is about 55 years old. Until my mother passed away in 2006, it has been ticking for 40 years in the Beeklaan in The Hague.
