I have an annoying question about 800.000 baht that must be deposited, and 65.000 baht income that must be proven. My question is, are those the same rules if you have a daughter with a Thai nationality and married to a Thai?

Why is a Thai baby always ugly?

When a baby is born, my Thai wife always says he/she is ugly. I thought that was weird and wanted her to stop. But she says that Thai people do that because otherwise they are afraid that the baby will be stolen by a ghost or something. So it has to do with superstition.

Yesterday I went to Immigration Korat for my annual extension and a re-entry permit. I had filled in all passport photos and the necessary forms and an income statement from the Dutch embassy (applied for by post on Monday afternoon and received in the village on Friday morning.

A video clip of a Thai police officer falling off his motorcycle over the guardrail was shown on many Thai media outlets. Viewers almost without exception claim that the Phuket police officer was clearly intoxicated, but the local police chief insists the police officer involved was "just sick".
