Soon flying from Pattaya to Hua Hin

Tags: Hua Hin, Pattaya, U-tapao Airport
Some time ago I wrote in a post about a possible ferry connection between Hua Hin and Pattaya. Several far-reaching studies have already been carried out in this area. However, this ambitious plan may well be canceled due to the following developments.
With the Kan Air airline it will soon be possible to fly from U-Tapoa, thirty kilometers from Pattaya, to Hua – Hin. Kan Air flies four times a week on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 19.40 pm to Hua Hin. Arrival in Hua Hin is 20.10:8 PM (flight K5245 – 20.40). The return flight is scheduled for XNUMX:XNUMX PM.
Another development is to build a high-speed line from Bangkok to Hua-Hin. Registration for this project will start in August.
Three Thai firms have already expressed interest in this construction. There is also interest from Germany, China and Japan. But Thai entrepreneurs will initially be given preference. The cost for this 206-kilometer long track costs 90 billion Baht and is therefore cheaper than the shorter 190-kilometer route to Pattaya. This is because the area is much less accessible due to mountains and rivers.

This development will not make the possible ferry service superfluous. For the 3 lines one needs 3 million passengers, let me assume 1/3 for the line Pattaya – Hua Hin for the sake of convenience.
That is 1 million / 365 days, is 2739 passengers per day, so per direction half, 1370 approximately.
With 4 flights per week with an estimated 150 passengers per flight, you come to about 85 per day.
That is approximately 6.2% of the number of passengers required for the ferry service.
So the planners need not be very frightened by this.
The question is rather where they will get those other 2.820.000 passengers from.
The connection has been there before, I believe through VGA Airlines. Stopped after a short time due to lack of passengers. This also applied to the ferry connection, which has already thrown in the towel after one high season. Incidentally, this only concerned passengers. Perhaps the interest is greater if you can also take the car with you.
Morning Louis,
In my opinion, Thai transport, especially ferries and planes, mainly rely on tourists.
1 x ferry just sunk.
1 x ferrie the engine on fire
Thai airplane me. refused in Japan, or a postponement until….
And why is that??
MAINTENANCE AND REGULAR SERVICES.
The Thai does not flute here.
A bus driver who himself checks his brakes at a stop and loses his life in the process.
Trains that regularly lie next to the track.
Just look at buildings.
These are purchased and never see a paint brush again.
Although last week we saw a building that had been painted, which we were also very surprised about.
I don't remember where, but around here somewhere.
You really won't get us on a ferry or train or plane (Thai) and it won't surprise me that many farangs think that way who live here.
Maintenance is a dirty word here.
LOUISE
KanAir's response:
