Dear Ronnie,

My question concerns the “Non-Immigrant multiple entry visa (valid for 1 year)”. If I apply for a Non-immigrant multiple entry visa (valid for 1 year), are the requirements for obtaining that visa the same as for a “Non-immigrant OA visa”? Or are the requirements for a multiple entry O visa much less strict than for an OA visa?

For OA visa I need Certificate of Health and Certificate of Good Conduct and Bank Account in Thailand and Birth Certificate and everything certified by a notary and then legalized by BZ. Is it true that all those documents are not required when applying for a “Non-Immigrant multiple entry visa (valid for 1 year)”?

Thank you very much for your response.

Dear Peter,

The requirements of a Non-immigrant “O” are indeed less strict than for a Non-immigrant “OA”.

Therefore, with a Non-immigrant “O” you only get a residence period of 90 days upon entry and with a Non-immigrant “OA” you only receive a residence period of one year upon entry.

The difference has to be somewhere, of course.

You can read all about it here and you can also easily find it on the website of the Thai embassy.

By the way, a bank account in Thailand is not required.
