Thailand Visa Request No. 162/20: Year Extension Thai Marriage
Questioner: John
Been coming to Thailand for about 13 years. I have been officially married in Thailand for 5 years. Always got a NON-IMM “O” Multiple Visa. Now I got a NON-IMM “O” Single for 90 days (because one leaves Thailand after 3 months, as with Multiple, you can't get back in).
Question: What options are there to extend my single visa for the next 3 months at the Immigration in my hometown of Buri Ram. I would like to stay longer with my family.
Thanks for the advices.

It does not matter whether a (year) extension or a stay period of 90 days was obtained with a Single or a Multiple entry. If you are married, you can extend on the basis of “Thai Marriage”, but if you meet “Retired” requirements, this is also possible.
Obtaining 90 days with a Non-immigrant O visa can be extended by a year and then you will immediately have a year of peace of mind, but you can also do it with 60 days on the basis of Thai marriage, but then you have to leave after those 60 days.
The conditions and additional information can be found in the link. These are the most requested requirements, but there may be some local deviations. It's never a bad idea to check in with your immigration office beforehand. Usually they have a document with the local requirements.
