Thailand Visa Question No. 301/22: New Passport

Questioner: Peter

I am in possession of an “Extension of stay” for my Non-IMM O visa (Retirement) with a “Multiple Re-entry permit”. During my holiday in the Netherlands I received a new passport. I will be returning to Thailand soon and would normally go directly to Chaeng Wattana to have my “Extension of Stay and Re-entry Permit” stamps transferred directly to my new passport.

This time, however, I will fly to Indonesia a few days after arriving in Thailand and return to Thailand after about three weeks. Is it allowed to transfer the stamps after returning from Indonesia? My “Extension of Stay and Re-entry Permit have not yet expired”.

Response RonnyLayYa

In principle, that should not be a problem as long as you keep both passports together.

Personally, I would try to have it transferred during those few days in Thailand.
