Questioner: Josh

Is my reasoning correct? I want to enter Thailand from Belgium without a visa application, I mean visa exemption, 30 days. Then apply for a Non immigrant O at immigration (90 days) and then apply for my retirement visa back there?

Yes you can and has been asked and answered here several times.

These are the requirements for a conversion as retirement

This is all separate from the Corona measures in force at that time that you must comply with to enter Thailand.
