Questioner: Rudolf

No flight details are requested to obtain a Non-Immigrant O (family) visa (by the Thai embassy in Berlin where I have to apply because I live in Germany). My question is whether a certain minimum period is applied when issuing / using a visa within which you must fly / arrive at Bangkok Airport? Or does it not matter and can I apply now to fly at the end of July or August (and then get the usual 90 days on arrival)?

Thanks for the help.

Each visa has a validity period. Stated on the visa as "Enter before". This means that you must enter Thailand before that date, or you can enter Thailand with it until that date. You will receive your 90 days upon arrival, even if it is on the last day.

For a Non-immigrant O, the validity period will be 3 months for a Single entry and one year for a Multiple entry. The visa expires after the validity date, even if it has not been used.

You should then see that you do not apply for the visa too quickly and take into account your entry.
