Questioner: Adrian

Convert visa to married visa. I have an OA visa, there you are obliged to take out insurance 40.000/400.000 baht and eg. 800.000 in the bank. If I now convert my visa into a married visa with my next visa extension, am I still obliged to take out the same insurance 40.000/400.000 baht? Then I only need to have 400.000 in the bank.

I am aware of the conditions of bank balance.

You do not need to change visa.

At the next extension of your period of stay, you request the extension based on Thai Marriage instead of Retirement. Normally this should be possible without any problems.

For an extension based on Thai Marriage, no health insurance is normally requested and the bank amount of 400 Baht is sufficient, which must be in the bank account 000 months before the application.

It is best to visit your local immigration office. They always have a list of what evidence is required locally.

Maybe this is also good to read. Reader Charly once wrote down his experiences a few months ago. He also had an OA visa that he extended on the basis of Thai Marriage.
