Questioner: Ab

I want to go to Thailand 2nd half of January for more than 30 days but less than 60 days. According to the Visa Extemption Rule, this should be possible without a visa, 30 days visa on arrival, to be extended by 30 days at Immigration against payment of 1900 Baht.

Well now, my travel agent says; More than 30 days in Thailand then a visa is required! No visa = no ticket. A travel document agency also tells me this. But is this really so in my case?

It cannot be the case that I have to book a 30-day flight and then rebook it again (after the 30 days extra) (which will also be extra costs).

Yes or no visa? It saves quite a bit of money and a lot of extra time if I do need a visa for this trip.

Will I not be asked questions if I am at an airport and do not have a visa for Thailand, while I do want to fly there?
Is there a cost to obtain the Thailand Pass?

Please advise on this, what I do not want under any circumstances is that I get problems at Schiphol or Phuket and/or be sent back.

“It saves quite a bit of money and a lot of extra time if I do need a visa for this trip.” Can you explain to me why you save quite a bit of money and a lot of extra time if you would take a visa?

– Tourist visa can be done online and costs 35 Euro.

You get 60 days upon entry. So you already have your full period of stay upon arrival and do not have to extend anything in Thailand. By the way, an extension costs 1900 Baht (+/- 50 Euro), ie 15 Euro more than your Tourist visa costs.

Your travel agency is actually right when they say that if someone intends to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days, they should actually apply for a visa.

Advice: Just take a Tourist visa now and don't look for problems that don't exist at all.

A Thai Pass is free.
