An old temple on the border between Thailand and Cambodia is at the center of a deadly territorial dispute. The result: the fiercest fighting in Southeast Asia in years.

Twenty-seven people have already been killed in fighting along the border since fighting flared up again in February this year. In addition, many were injured and tens of thousands of villagers were forced to flee

The governments of both Cambodia and Thailand claim the territory of 4,6 square kilometers around the temple. But some say that nationalism and domestic politics are the real cause of the conflict.

In this video from Al Jazeera 101-East, the documentary makers take a look at both sides of the border and the struggle for the Preah Vihear.
