Nong Nooch Tropical Garden – Pattaya
One of the most beautiful tropical gardens in the world Thailand is undoubtedly Nong Nooch under the smoke of Pattaya. The land on which the park is located was purchased in 1954 by Pisit and Nongnooch Tansacha and named after the owner's wife.
Initially, the intention was to build a fruit plantation on the purchased property, but the initial plans soon changed and a start was made with the construction of a tropical garden. Garden is actually a misnomer for such an expansive area that takes up almost two and a half square kilometers. Just calculate how many square meters that is.
The garden was opened to the public in 1980 and has grown over the years into a real pleasure. From Pattaya, almost all travel agencies organize daily excursions to Nong Nooch, but you can also easily go there on your own and then have the time all to yourself. It's easy to do even on a moped. If you follow the Sukhumvit Road from Pattaya towards Rayong, you will see Nong Nooch on your left after about 18 kilometers.
Not a garden freak
You don't have to be a real garden freak or connoisseur to enjoy a truly beautiful landscaped tropical garden here. Although a walk through this beauty is an experience in itself, you can also rent a bicycle or let an open 'train' transport you through the park. The driver will stop at the most beautiful places to give his passengers the opportunity to take pictures and to enjoy a little more.
The arsenal of plants and trees is very diverse and attractively grouped. The beautiful cactus garden, a wide variety of the most beautiful palm trees imaginable, the French and European garden, countless plants and flowers and even an imitation of the famous prehistoric English Stonehenge can be admired. A very special experience is a walk on a long footpath built on steel pillars on which you walk, as it were, in the middle of the treetops.
attractions
Nor need you die of hunger and thirst, for the inner man can be strengthened in two places. For the children there is a specially tailored zoo where the youngsters can walk around among the animals present there. There are also beautiful tropical birds and a butterfly garden.
If you just can't get enough of it, there is even the possibility to spend the night in Nong Nooch.

Indeed, this beautiful garden is really worth walking around
Take at least 2 days for it, because it is really vast, and there is a lot to see
It is more expensive to spend the night there than in a “regular hotel”
But really recommend to go here
Been there too. Is indeed a beautiful garden and one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen.
It is indeed a beautiful park, take a taxi and go on your own. I was there in 2001 and then took a tour through the park where you really saw the entire park, this tour has now been at least halved and you can still see only a small part of the park, but it is still worth it, although I think 800tbh for more than fifteen minutes is on the high side, at least that was the price in December 2010,
I don't think those animals that you can take pictures with are very successful, those animals belong in nature.
I spend a day there every year. It is large and spacious, so that you do not get in each other's way. And you always see other beautiful plants, trees and art.
If you like plants that are cut from all sides you should go there. A tropical garden looks different. Greetings from Nong Chap Tao (Chonburi) Gerd
Indeed Cor, is included in the entrance fee, unless you pay the Thai entrance fee as a farang. Incidentally, I agree with Robbie, but if you do not come to the north, Nong is also a beautiful garden. However, why I will not visit again is the treatment method of the tigers with which you can have your picture taken. On a leash of about 50 cm so that they are forced to lie down, drugged and lying in their own urine, this is a disgrace in nong nooch. Disgusting!
@Egon,
And now I agree with you. It's a shame, but what can we do about it?
This is the park where a tiger is tied to a half meter chain so that the poor animal is forced to lie on its side in front of a pen for visitors who can then take a photo for 100 bath.
Quite good, to praise this park.
Indeed, definitely worth a visit, I have been there 4 times myself, but with the concrete zoo I think the level has gone down.
The bonsai collection has been refurbished and requires attention!
Beautiful.

I went there 3 years ago and although I liked it I must say that I found the nearby Million-Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm more beautiful and cozy (www.thaistonepark.org). The entrance fee was also lower.
this is easy to find if from pattaya to satahip rjd on sukhumvit road you pass it
Is located on the right side of sukhumvite road about 10km from pattaya
HELLO, go and have a look in the evening, it's really worth it
Yes Peter Phuket,
it is not so special that you can find pots from North Holland because there are both exotic and exotic trees and plants in this park! This garden is really beautiful. There are also a few huge aquariums with very large fish and the bird park is also beautiful. I would like to see it again, but given my physical condition and my age, this will always be a wish!
Oh yes, why do we Dutchmen always complain about the price, it is as if the price is more important than what is offered for it, moreover, have all those people who object to it ever been to a Dutch recreation park? This is not an attack on your article, Peter!
I went there about a month ago.
By taxi from Pattaya. Had a very nice day.
Nice those height differences and the many fake animals.
In short, there is a lot to see there
Several Thais think that if you visit this park with your loved one/expectant, the relationship will not last and will fail. Strangely enough, I heard this story and without having mentioned that I had been here before with my then girlfriend, I realized that this was also the case in my situation.
In short, a beautiful park, but watch out with whom you make this trip together.
It is indeed beautiful. We have been there regularly since 1998. The last time was 2 years ago. In the past you were allowed to take pictures of animals. There was a simple elephant show, which was very impressive. Now it's way too commercial, you have to pay for every fart. The gardens are beautiful, without plastic statues. The most beautiful thing last time was the elephant washing station after the show, just a bit of the idea as it was.
Oh, don't forget the car collection... Plus some bicycles.. And a cat collection same building, going again next week with the five of us... Nice....
We went there about 5 years ago. You can easily spend the whole day there. Lots of pictures taken, great memories.
There was still a lot of construction and construction going on at the time, I suppose it will look a bit different now.
The only thing that really annoyed me was the restaurant over there. It was crawling with flies there. Not very appetizing.
Been last year. A clean attack on your wallet and looks terribly contrived. If you compare this with, for example, the free botanical garden in Singapore, this is extremely poor. The only image that stays with me is of drugged tigers on a short chain. Well if you like this kind of stuff...
