Although more and more travelers find their way to Trang and its enchanting surroundings, it remains a well-kept secret for most tourists who come to Thailand to come.

The province of Trang with the capital of the same name is located in the south of Thailand. There is no mass tourism here yet, but extensive beaches that you only have to share with a few and beautiful bounty islands surrounded by coral reefs. The provincial capital is certainly also worth a visit, if only to taste the delicious regional dishes, such as the succulent BBQ suckling pig, which even hosts an entire annual festival.

The islands off the coast of Trang are dazzlingly beautiful. Koh Libong, the largest island in Trang province, covers an area of approximately 40 square kilometers. Big enough for some paved roads. Only 6.000 people live here and you will find small fishing communities and rubber plantations here.

Koh Mook (Koh Muk) is especially famous for the secret beach in the Morakot Cave. This beach is surrounded by towering cliffs and only accessible at low tide, through an 80-meter sea cave after dark. The sunlight that enters here creates a striking emerald green color. 'Morakut' is the Thai word for emerald.

Koh Kradan is the most famous island of all Trang islands with a number of luxury resorts. The beaches of Koh Kradan are enchanted white and the crystal clear sea makes it a true paradise.

Trang is easy to get to

Trang is easily accessible by air from Bangkok or by boat from Krabi and Phuket. You don't have to worry about overnight stays either, because on most islands you can find everything from simple but romantic beach huts to more luxurious accommodations where you are really welcomed like a VIP and treated at often attractive prices. A ramble around the many islands can certainly be a highlight of the holiday .
