Eye Fund: Watch out for eye damage from UV rays from the sun
Those who live or go on holiday in Thailand can enjoy the exuberant sunshine almost every day and that is wonderful, but what most do not realize is that UV radiation from the sun can cause permanent damage to the eyes. The Eye Fund advises to always protect your eyes with good sunglasses.
The police in Bangkok are no longer allowed to wear sunglasses. The Deputy Chief of the National Police, Chalermkiat Srivorakhan, has banned Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) officers on duty from wearing sunglasses. They should also dress well and keep their hair short.
Bangkok police seize 210.000 counterfeit branded sunglasses
210.000 pairs of eyeglasses and branded sunglasses were seized in a raid on three warehouses in Bangkok's Klong San and Pomprap Sattruphai districts. It concerns counterfeits of well-known brands such as Ray-Ban, Prada, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Burberry and Oakley.
