In every major city, anywhere in the world, you encounter poverty, beggars, prostitution, hovels and crime. So also in a metropolis like Bangkok. In fact, nothing new under the sun. The average tourist will hardly experience it or perhaps process it somewhat with a shake of his head. After all, we are on vacation, so no worries.

Haven for street children from Pattaya

Thanks to financial help from, among others, the Lufthansa Help Alliance, it was possible for the Human Help Network Foundation Thailand (HHNFT) to open a shelter for stray children in Pattaya.

In Thailand, a large part of the population lives in poverty, especially in the agricultural northeastern part of Thailand. The lack of proper education and training creates a hopeless situation and with it the lack of insight into the danger of sexual exploitation and human trafficking, not only for adults, but also for children.
