According to the Thai government, the number of local infections of Covid-19 in Thailand has been reduced to zero for a month and a half. Only some infected Thai from mainly Muslim countries now contribute to the Corona bag upon return.
Schools open again: Busy public transport from 1 July
Schools in Thailand will reopen on July 1, which will cause crowds in public transport. The Department of Rail Transport is working on measures to control the crowds, but social distancing will not be possible.
Restaurants are allowed to reopen in Thailand and therefore also in Pattaya, but hardly any restaurants are open! In addition to the alcohol ban, the safety regulations and the small number of tourists, there is also a lack of clarity about those safety regulations. Some operators even adhere to the strict rule of one customer per table, which would even be officially mandatory. Other operators do allow more customers at one table!
The cinemas in Thailand can open again from Monday, but strict rules apply. Cinemas must leave three seats free between individual visitors or couples.
When I look around here in Thailand, not many Thais adhere to the 1,5 meter distance rule. Went to the market this morning, quite busy and everyone huddled together, no distance. Still, Thailand has few infections. That's why I wonder if Maurice de Hond is right that the 1,5 meter is nonsense?
The international aviation organization IATA says that 1,5 distance in airplanes is not an option. Keeping seats free is unfeasible and unnecessary because, according to the IATA, the risk of contamination on board is low.
