I've been coming to Bangkok for almost forty years, but it was only recently that I was alerted to a second terminal. This station is located on the west side of the river, in Thonburi, near King Taksin Square.

A news report from last week showed a video of a pickup truck skidding narrowly to miss a passing woman. Not exactly world news, but it happened in a sub-district of Samut Sakhon called Phantai Norasing. The message did mention that there was a local legend associated with the sub-district and its naming, and that's when things got interesting.
Thailand relaxes Covid-19 measures except in Samut Sakhon
Thailand intends to scale down a number of Covid-19 measures. A CCSA sub-committee reached agreement on this yesterday and the committee will make a binding decision tomorrow.
Thai government issues lockdown warning
The threat of a total lockdown in Thailand is not yet off the table. CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp warned yesterday: “Adhere to the measures and our guidelines or there will be a national lockdown until March. If there is no proper cooperation from the population and the situation gets out of hand, this ultimate measure will be taken.”

The Thai Ministry of Health announced an emergency at a press conference due to 516 new cases of Covid-19, mainly among foreign migrant workers from Myanmar.

90 days notification in Samut Sakhon. Went to Samut Sakhon immigration office today for my 90 days notice. Should have brought my bank book just to be sure, you never know. I handed over my passport and the previous 90 days note and after 3 minutes my passport along with the next 90 days note was handed to me. My bank book was not asked and no other questions were asked.
Salt production in Thailand
When one thinks of Thailand, one does not initially think of salt extraction. More on beautiful white beaches with palms and an azure blue sea in the south of Thailand. Even less of mountains and ancient cultures in the north of Thailand. Yet salt production is also part of the tradition of Thailand.
