Pattaya police in (catering) business
According to a previous story by Gringo, it is estimated that there are more than a thousand beer bars in Pattaya. You may have some doubts about whether they all have a reasonable existence. It is not for nothing that many pubs regularly change owners.
This year the spectacular International Fireworks Festival in Pattaya will take place again. Friday 8 June and Saturday 9 June 2018 are the dates to note in the agenda.
Pattaya then and now
Many nice details can sometimes be found in old books or even the Pattaya Trader. The development of Pattaya and Jomtien can also be clearly seen on the basis of photos. At the well-known viewpoint on Pratumnak Hill (Khao Phra Tumnak), the expansion of Pattaya can be followed like an oil slick. Every year a little bit more.

7-Eleven stores are booming in Thailand
An increasing number of 7-Eleven convenience stores are popping up in Chonburi. It seems as if the management of these stores are afraid to miss a baht on the Lotus and Big C stores.
Hey, another farang in the village
I've been living in Thailand for quite a few years now and I still don't know what to do if I see another Farang.

Isan experiences (6)
Partly inspired by a question on social media, De Inquisitor started thinking about why he came to Thailand, why he loves it. Most of the answers were clichéd. The climate. The food. The culture. Few dared to say “the opposite sex”. Or the low regulation. Or the low lifespan. That kind of thing keeps haunting The Inquisitor's head, he starts to think. Because he himself has had to adjust his opinion regularly due to his experiences here.
Remnants of what?
It is always interesting to drive around and see if there is still something to discover. They are not always spectacular discoveries, but sometimes something to think about or fantasize about.
I have been a Thailand traveler for more than 25 years, often rented a condo for the holiday periods. Now that I have just retired, I would like to buy a condo in Pattaya Jomtien in Viewtalay 2 to have my own place for my own use. Can I get tips from which agencies should I consult or am I better off going through a private individual? All info is welcome. I will be there for 5 weeks in June.
Brit dead after fall from apartment Pattaya

I have a question for the foodies in Pattaya who also like to eat Thai curries. I'm going there soon and would like some tips for restaurants that serve really good paneng, green curry (keng khio waan), yellow curry (keng kharie) and/or massaman in the Pattaya Tai/Jomtien area.

Reader question: Why no metered taxi in Pattaya?
I am going to Pattaya for the second time soon. I want to visit some places in the area, can't walk for a long time given my age and therefore prefer to use a taxi that runs on the meter. Now I see enough taxis with meters but no one who wants to drive on the meter. My question is why is that? Can't find a taxi in Pattaya that just runs on the meter like in Bangkok? Isn't that also required by law?
Reverie about what it was like in Thailand
I fell in love with Bangkok during my first visit, well, rather I fell in love with Bangkok. I had already made many trips in Europe and the Middle East, but Thailand was the pinnacle, a beautiful country, with friendly people, good food and, of course, a vibrant nightlife. It became my favorite country and always has been.
Churches in Pattaya
Although much has been written about Pattaya and Thailand, I have not yet come across a topic about churches. While there are still a number of churches in Pattaya and the surrounding area.
