A week in Bangkok (part 3)
After the successful document exercise and the quick settlement at the Dutch embassy yesterday, today back to the Thai Department of Consular Affairs. Toey's unmarried status certificate issued the day before yesterday must be returned in legalized form today. Today, with the form issued by the Dutch embassy, let's see if everything is okay and if the Thai Department can also give approval to our intended marriage.
A week in Bangkok (part 2)
After yesterday's flight from Udon to Bangkok, today we have a trip to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, more specifically the Department of Consular Affairs, on the program. The address: 123 Chaeng Watthana Road.
My Thai girlfriend has to have a statement of non-marriage translated from Thai into English, German or French for the MVV. What's the best place to get that done? She lives in Nakon Phanom.
At the beginning of the year I asked what documents you need for the Town Hall to get married. From Rob.V. i got an answer. With that to the Town Hall. They forwarded the originals to the IND in Zwolle. Now, an “IND time” later, we have been told that….
Declaration of intended marriage to my Thai girlfriend
The Netherlands Worldwide website states that the non-Dutch partner must accompany you to the Dutch embassy. What are your experiences with this? In all previous posts on this subject, where some have written down all their steps, I have not seen anywhere that the Thai partner has to come along for the application, and I have also not read about the Thai partner's declaration of unmarried status. Where can she get these? She has never been married.
My Thai partner wants to come to the Netherlands and passed the exam yesterday. Next week she wants to collect a birth certificate and non-married statement from the District Office. Previously she was married in America and divorced. She has been told that she can easily obtain the statement and that she must bring 2 witnesses who declare/confirm that she is (currently) not married.
Since this year, an attempt at marriage in Thailand has become a much more difficult task than before and even more difficult for the Dutch. First of all, the NL embassy has decided in all its wisdom (surprise!) that the Thai must submit a translated and legalized declaration of unmarried status, even though this has nothing to do with what the Thai government wants from the embassy.
I need a declaration of unmarried status for an MVV visa for my Thai girlfriend. This must also be translated and legalized.
