If we are to believe Wikipedia – and who wouldn't? – are noodles “…consumables made from unleavened dough and cooked in water,” which, according to the same infallible encyclopaedic source, “has traditionally been one of the staple foods in many Asian countries.” I couldn't have phrased it better were it not for the fact that this definition does a gross injustice to the delicious noodle paradise that is Thailand.
