The Dutch spend less, but travel more

In 2019, the Dutch expect to spend the majority of Dutch summer expenditure on summer activities (19%), foreign travel (15%) and summer clothing and fashion (11%). This is evident from the Ferratum Summer Barometer 2019.

The majority of the Dutch experience stress when looking for the ideal last minute holiday. About 66% of the Dutch indicate that they experience some degree of stress. This is choice stress, but also tension as a result of irritations during the search. Too high prices (39%) and too much choice (25%) are the most frequently mentioned reasons for this stress.

In July we leave for Thailand/Malaysia for 3 weeks. We fly to Kuala Lumpur and then travel through the Taman Negara and possibly the Cameron Highlands to South Thailand. Roughly speaking, we want to spend about 5 to 7 days in Malaysia and the other 2/2,5 weeks in southern Thailand. Finally, our trip ends in Bangkok.

I would like to know if anyone has traveled to Thailand with a prohibited dog breed such as an American Stafford (or pit bull). Through a Dutch organization I heard that it might be possible (only if he is neutered) if this is requested separately from the Thai authorities. The organization won't help me further because I don't want to fly it as cargo (which is their business activity) but in the hold, on the same flight as me.

The story 'Nostalgia in the Isaan' by De Inquisitor will have revived memories of a gray past for many. A lot has changed over the years and not only in Thailand. I had to think back to my very first foreign trip that I was allowed to make as a 17-year-old because I had passed my final exams well. The trip went by coach to the Swiss town of Weggis on Lake Lucerne.
