I am planning to go to Thailand (Cha-aam or Hua Hin) in April/May, want to stay there for more than a year or longer if I like it. So I live on my pension so that I do not have to use the amount of 800.000 baht. My question is, can I put that 800.00 baht on a new savings account to get more interest, or is this prohibited at Thai emigration if you have to show your bank book?

I have Belgian nationality and am registered in Belgium, but my bank account is with ING in the Netherlands. Do I have to take my bank statements to the Belgian embassy or to the Dutch embassy in Bangkok? Can proof of income also be issued by the municipality in Belgium?

The file states: The Dutch embassy uses a form to state the monthly income on which you fill in your income yourself and this form is then signed by the embassy against payment within 10 working days with the remark: The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands accepts no responsibility for the contents of this document). My question: can I enter the amounts of my AOW, ABP and Zorg en Welzijn pension myself? Can I also add the holiday allowance (about € 800.=)?

I am Dutch 71 years old. I have a pension from the Netherlands and Belgium and thus meet the monthly requirement of 400.00 baht for an annual visa. No problem for six years. Now my proof of income from Belgium is no longer legalized by the Dutch embassy. Nor by Belgium. I have a Dutch passport.

I am a Belgian and will soon be leaving for Phuket for a longer period of time with an O visa for 3 months as a pensioner over 50. I want to apply for a year extension at immigration since I think that's the easiest solution, thanks for the info from Ronny.
