My partner is Thai and has been living in NL for 15 years and has an indefinite residence permit. We are not married. She is now considering (also) applying for a Dutch passport. Is it allowed under Thai law that she can keep her Thai passport?
I am currently in a complex situation where I would like to share some advice and experiences on how to get a dual passport for my girlfriend. My girlfriend is originally from Thailand and would like to live permanently in the Netherlands. She currently holds a Thai passport, which she would like to keep because of her property and family ties in Thailand. At the same time, she is determined to also have the option of obtaining a Dutch passport, so that she can fully settle in the Netherlands.
Thailand question: Going to Thailand with my daughter, she has a Thai and Dutch passport?
The question may have been asked before, but that was some time ago. I live with my daughter in Thailand. I want to go on vacation to Thailand in April. We are staying with my sister. My daughter has a Thai and Dutch passport.
My 16-year-old son has to renew his Dutch passport in a month. In 2018 he also received a Thai passport in The Hague. The passport application form asks for foreign passports and nationalities. My son now has Dutch and Thai nationality.
I have been living in the Netherlands with my Thai girlfriend since 2004. The MVV has been extended several times, but now we want to apply for a Dutch passport. What about the duplicate passport? Read that at IND that double passport is only possible if she is married to me or has a registered partnership? What are the consequences if she does not report this to the Thai authorities after obtaining her passport and Dutch citizenship? She does not want to lose her Thai nationality.
