Still want to file a tax return in Thailand?
We have until the end of March to file a tax return in Thailand for the past year. You can count on a fine for a later declaration.
Reader submission: Is my money safe at the Thai bank?
I recently wrote about the attractive sides of the teaching profession, such as borrowing money cheaply and easily. Some bloggers responded and got me thinking. I did that based on assumptions and assumptions.
Malfunction at Thai banks causing ATMs (ATM) to stop working
Due to a technical problem, payment traffic at four banks came to a standstill yesterday. Cash machines (ATMs) failed and money transfer was also not possible.
My wife and I would like to deposit a certain amount (1.000.000 THB) in an account with a Thai bank in the future, when we permanently live in Thailand, within a year or so. Can someone tell me which bank gives the most interest?
Statement of the week: NL financial institutions would rather lose you than rich if you move to Thailand
Globalisation, the disappearance of national borders and deregulation on a global scale, is a development that cannot be stopped. Strangely enough, the (financial) authorities in the Netherlands seem to think differently. If you are no longer registered in the Netherlands, you risk becoming a kind of 'outcast'.
Reader Question: Are Thai Banks Scammers?
I ask myself this question after I went to withdraw money at an ATM of the Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) in Uthai near Ayutthaya yesterday. First, the ATM gave a rate of just over 35 baht, while the rate at their site was over 37 baht. In addition, I still got the costs for the ATM on the screen, I read 180 baht, but on my receipt the 200 baht was still nicely calculated.
Reader question: Is there a guarantee system for Thai banks?
Can someone tell me if savings in Thailand are guaranteed in case of bank failure? In the Netherlands, according to the Consumer Association, it is a maximum of one ton in Euro.
'Thai banks do too little against phishing'
Today in Bangkok Post there is an article about the fact that only a few banks in Thailand have taken measures to protect customers against phishing, a form of internet fraud.
Reader's submission: Deregistered in the Netherlands, then no more NL bank account
A Dutch friend of mine reported that he had received a message from ABN-AMRO that Dutch banks have an advanced plan to close all accounts of Dutch people who live permanently outside the EU.
A simple but effective weapon against debit card skimming will now also be used in Thailand: no longer a magnetic strip, but a chip.
A balance on a savings account with a Dutch bank up to € 100.000 is guaranteed by the state, as far as I know. Do these kind of guarantee rules apply from the Thai state to the Thai banks? If not, would it be wise to put your money in two or three banks?
How is a bank card skimmed? So so!
Since the beginning of this year, skimmers have managed to take 70 to 80 million baht from bank accounts. A camera is no longer necessary; a fake keyboard is pasted on the keyboard.
I am considering opening a Thai bank account as I am tired of paying 150 to 180 baht every time or finding a good exchange rate. Which bank is recommended?
The following happened to me. I accidentally transferred money to the wrong bank account number in Thailand. The money was for my girlfriend in Udon Thani.
Reader question: Where in Pattaya can I rent a bank safe?
Can someone let me know at which banks (branches) I could go to Pattaya to rent a bank safe, what the conditions are and at what price?
Who has experience with credit cards from the major Thai banks? They want to offer it to me.
