Harbor Pattaya, a new shopping mall

The new Harbor Pattaya shopping center was completed in April. It is located next to Foodland Supermarket on Pattaya Klang. At the front, the building looks high and narrow, but it is only from the side that you see how immensely large this building is. It stands on 8 rai of ground and has a floor space of 100.000 square meters.

This shopping center deviates in several respects from what people are generally used to. In the lower floor "the basement area" are a number of car shows with show models such as the MG, Suzuki and Mitsubishi brands. You will also find banks, a branch of the Krungsri insurance, jewelry stores, a post office, a nail studio, a hairdresser's salon and many well-known coffee shops together, such as Starbucks, Au bon Pain and Swensen's. At the back of this section is an excellent large selection of foodstuffs.

The second striking part of this Harbor Pattaya shop is that they claim to have the largest indoor playground in Asia. It would go too far to list all the attributes that are attractive to the children. Parents can leave the children with authorized supervisors and go shopping. To be honest, there is a price tag attached to this event. Parents must fill in a form with details and sign that “Harborland” cannot be held liable for any calamity whatsoever. The price tag attached to it and for what period of time was unclear.

Children also have the opportunity to learn something here, such as making music in the Music Academy, cooking in the Cook Cool Artino, art and handling the computer in the Robot's Child learning center. Holidaymakers looking for an activity for their children should inquire here. Two floors can be compared to the IT center Tukcom in the Pattaya Thai. In this center it is called: "Tukcom The Mall".

It would go too far to discuss all the other shops present. A number of things have not yet been rented out, which makes it a little less cozy. The upper part of the building will be used for conference rooms and offices. A total of 1000 cars can be parked for free in the building.

There are plans to build an ice skating rink (the Rink) and create a snow area (Snow Land) in October. The future will tell.

Visited Harbor Pattaya two months ago, on the opening day, I think
not reserved for a long life, too expensive, and not exactly a sensation that stays with you for a long time. In that same one
week we went to the cinema at Central Festival and saw the film ZooUtopia, well that was fantastic, for the whole family. recommended.

You may wonder whether there are not enough places in Pattaya where you can eat and drink and where you can find a hairdresser.
Such mega centers must therefore partly rely on customers from the region.
The problem is that because of that there are simply too many cars driving around in Pattaya. Such a parking garage is wonderful, but you also have to get in and out.
Central Festival is already causing congestion on Second Road every day, and it won't get any better on Central Road now.
There is no room for more roads, so sooner or later you will really only want these kinds of mega centers on the outskirts of the city.
It is a pity that foresight in this respect is often lacking in Thailand and that problems that could have been prevented are eventually accepted as inevitable.

Last week Thursday I walked around for a few hours and I must admit not really bustling.
Too much of the same and vacancy on some floors. There were hardly any customers in restaurants and shops.
When I got home, my girlfriend told me that it had just opened, but I didn't get that impression when I walked around there. The whole thing seemed dated to me.
