Dear readers,

Tourism in Thailand has been down for 2 years now. The Chinese are not allowed to travel and the Russians will not come now either. You would now expect that the real estate market in Pattaya has completely collapsed, right? Or am I wrong?

Does anyone know about condo rental rates? And possibly the purchase prices? Is now the time to buy or rent?

Regards,

Witze

After our holiday in December / January we were able to rent our 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom condo in Jomtien again for a year for 15000 baht / month (excluding internet, electricity and water), which is 25% less than the rental price for Corona. This is also the floor price for us (otherwise it will simply remain empty and we can always enter it ourselves if we want to). We heard at the reception of our complex (the Orient) that many owners do not want to rent out for low prices, they prefer to leave it empty.

You can rent a brand new 2 room apartment for 4500 baht per month in Arcadia beach resort, fully furnished with 2 air conditioners. Very neat with full kitchen and TV with all the channels you could wish for. Girlfriend lives there and is very satisfied. About 5 minutes drive from downtown Pattaya. In the heart of Pattaya you also have very neat serviced apartments for 7000+ pm.

Hi Cammie, thank you for the tip.
I want to go to Thailand for the first time in September for a holiday to taste the atmosphere of an Asian country. Also for diving and seeing the local atmosphere and sights.
So Tbh 4500 for a month is certainly not wrong, Greetings William

Then your girlfriend has made an extremely good deal, average asking price is about 14000-18000 baht per month, there are a lot of empty spaces now so the final prices are often lower but for 4500 baht per month the owner must have been pretty desperate . (that's about €4,- /150 baht per day)

Not an extremely good deal, the normal price is nowadays large complex several buildings are still empty for the same price. It is therefore not a large detached villa with a swimming pool. If you know where to look and look, you will find much cheaper even. Fan room 3000 pm e.g.
