Home » Reader question » Reader question: Can I rent an apartment in Jomtien for less than 10.000 baht?
Dear readers,
I will be in Thailand from January 3 and would like to rent an apartment in Jomtien until February 14, 2016. It must be under 10.000 baht per month, will I be able to do this?
Who knows anything?
Thank you very much for thinking along.
Greetings,
Marinella
Of course that's possible.
But why bother with 50 or 100 euros for a holiday of a few weeks in the high season and that at such short notice?
Who cares if you pay 9.000 or 12.000 Bath?
It is important to have a good time here.
I rent a furnished condo on a long term basis for 6.500 Bath per month.
where do you rent? water and air conditioning included?
do you have pictures of your condo?
do you rent for several years?
would like to know because i want to stay in thailand later.
JM
I rent in Jomtien, Baan Suan Lalana.
Water and electricity are added separately, in my case about 1000 Bath. I rent on an annual basis. Just search the internet.
There is a lot of offer. Photos are less important because I had a lot of stuff replaced with my own newly bought stuff because I leave here when the R is in the month or when I come to Thailand (there is no R in the name).
Question is do you want to camp or have a little luxury? Here in Thailand they say: “Up to you”
Just a pity that the prices on booking.com for January start at €37 per night.

Oh gosh.....
You can surf to Tailandblog but you don't know how the internet works?:
http://pattayacondoguide.com/search/jomtien-condominiums-to-rent,4.html
So yes, you can.
I have stayed in the Jomtien complex several times for a month, for about 500 bth a day, which is about, 300 euros.
Ask about, Peggy, everyone in the Jomtien complex knows him, and he'll sort it out for you.
I have no idea what you are going to do in Jomtien, but given the budget, it will probably not be a holiday that has been long awaited.
The offer in Jomtien is huge. A few things to watch out for:
You go from January 3 to February 14, so 6 weeks in two months. You may then have to pay more than 1.5 times the monthly rent.
The monthly rent that is advertised is often also based on a minimum stay of several months or a year.
The monthly rent advertised is sometimes that for the low season.
Will there be electricity, water, WiFi, TV or something else?
In short, something that says 10.000 Baht per month can, in your case, just amount to 30.000 Baht for 6 weeks.
There is a good chance that you will end up in a less central part (and you are already in Jomtien…) so expect to spend extra money and especially time to get somewhere.
The offer on the internet is often not up to date. I just came across a number of condos that will be available again on October 1, 2009….
January 3rd is a fairly unlucky day to arrive, just at the end of the peak season, the dollars still in the eye.
Find and book a hotel/guest house for a few days in a place that is not located on a hot spot, but is still reasonably easy to reach. If you then explore the immediate area for the first few days, it must go very crazy if you don't want to find something nice.
at http://www.lakevillaresort.com are beautiful apartments with swimming pool for rent for 6000 bath/month
just beautiful, clean, friendly Belgian owner and can also rent a moped.
The website is not working, there are no rooms available on pattayahotelsandresorts in January, and on

is the cheapest room about €15 per night.
In addition, the location (only there) is misrepresented, it is miles from Pattaya/Jomtien Beach
For the correct location:

No problem cheap accommodation below 10.000 baht, even for 6000 in high season, but no hot water, no air conditioning: Bed and kitchenette. Pay extra for the fridge and across the street from sukhumvit in pattaya: dangerous if you want to go to south pattaya every day, then do you have to cross the main road sukhumvit, possibly with a moped. pay attention, but if you are caught with a car, there is a good chance that you will not survive. The car that fits you is nothing, but the following car can drive on you. Name is: 4 men court and is operated by Chinese. Apartments are nice but no elevator no swimming pool: so costs as little as possible for him.
@Marinella
Take a look at Airbnb I see several
You have to take a few things into account.
If you want to experience the nightlife, you have to rent something in Pattaya itself, preferably centrally. At least close to the route of the Bath vans. If you rent something else you will have to have transport. The advantage of staying centrally is that you have almost no transport costs. If you want peace, choose Jomtien like I did. Please note that it is 15 minutes by motorbike to Pattaya. Motorbike rental costs between 2000 and 3000 Bath per month. If you are not staying near the route of a Bath van, you will either have to walk there or take a motorbike taxi, minus 40 Bath per ride. there and back to Pattaya will be at least 100 Bath per day. Thick 4500 Bath for 6 weeks (1 time there and back). If you rent a motorbike, you have to be careful with your alcohol consumption. Americans say: "you do the math". I think a somewhat more expensive condo in the center is ultimately cheaper.
