Dear readers,

How do I get from Aranyaprathet to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) Vietnam by bus? Or possibly from Bangkok.

I have a lot of material with me, which makes it much too expensive by plane.

Do not need a visa as it concerns a Vietnamese person.

Yours faithfully,

John

  1. that's it says up

    1. Since the end of 2012, buses run daily from BKK/Mochit to IN Cambodia: Siem Reap and-very long ride-only high season even Pnom Penh. resp. 700 and 1000 THB (I think-or approx), delay around 7.30/8.00
-although the information says that these are through buses, you still have to transfer to a guarded and immediately ready other bus near the border. Due to left/right traffic.
    2. daily dozens of buses from many companies, both Khmer and VN, go from both SR and PnPn to HCMC. You MUST then have a pre-arranged visa for UN - that goes in Camb. very fast and cheap, but not in 1 night - in that case sleep 2 nights in PnPn.
Almost all buses in Camb can be found on the site canbypublications.com. There you can also see that there are buses to both SR and PnPn from the CAMB side behind Aran= Poi Pet.
    3. In practice, if you just want to move on quickly, and also have to pay 20/25 US$ for the Camb visa, flying with AirAsia or VIetJet is cheaper from BKK.

  2. Michiel says up

Did that route in reverse a few years ago. HCM-PP-SR-BKK by bus .

HCM to Seam Reap is possible in 1 day, departure at 08.00:12.00 around 18:00, you are then in PP and then straight on to SR, arrival around XNUMX:XNUMX. It can all take an hour at a time.

SR to BKK also takes about the whole day if you take a tourist bus that stops every few hours at restaurants (you won't be hungry). Arrival BKK usually around 19:00 PM. If you take the normal bus in Aranyaprathet or a taxi you are usually faster.

Costs for us then bus HCM – SR around 25$ pp Visa € 25 pp Hotel 2prs 20$ SR – BKK +- 20$pp.

travel time: 2 days. Got VIP bus paid HCM-SR to PP then kicked out in PP and put on the cheapest bus they could find to SR 6,5 hours.

Try to travel with Mehkong Tour bus company as they are often a few dollars more expensive and also better.

Year after but flown with Airasia DMK-HCM 2prs total cost 6000 thb Booked 3 days in advance. Booking earlier is usually cheaper.

Travel time : afternoon 1,5 hours flight rest airport and taxis.
