Reader question: Import boat to Thailand

As a lover of the sea, I would like to import my boat to Thailand. This fits perfectly in a 40 ft (or 45 ft) container. In the meantime, a lot of research has been done on the internet, but some questions still remain unclear.

We leave for Thailand with our whole family in 5 weeks. Like most people we land in Bangkok. I would like to show my husband and children some beautiful places of this great city. But given the developments of the past few weeks / months, I have started to have some doubts.

No intervention in social media

Social media is not restricted. A planned visit by the Ministry of ICT to the leadership of Facebook and Google in Singapore was canceled this weekend. The ministry does, however, keep an eye on social media to prevent provocative messages from being spread.
Who knows if the buses run from, say, 20.00 p.m. into the night after midnight? This is because of the curfew.

Inflation in Thailand is rising rapidly, in May it was even the highest in 14 months. Food and drink in particular became more expensive.

In the Netherlands and Belgium there are quite a few middle-aged single men (between 40 and 60 years old) who are looking for a nice woman. I have excellent advice for them: go to Thailand! But maybe you have different experiences? Let us know whether or not you agree with the statement, "Thailand is a paradise for single men."

A beautiful concert hall was officially opened on the campus of Mahidol University in Bangkok West this month: the Prince Mahidol Hall.
The intention is to move to Thailand within 7 to 10 years. The years until then, going there at least 2 months a year. Is it advisable to start putting money in a Thai bank account?

Curfews a problem for the Full Moon Party

The tourism sector in Surat Thani wants the army to lift the curfew for the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan.
I am 71 years old, single and top fit. I also have no contact with my other family. Also, I don't know any acquaintances who can give me advice. I want to leave everything in the Netherlands behind me for good and live in Thailand for good.

Protesters ignore gathering ban

About a hundred demonstrators protested against the military coup in and outside the Terminal 21 shopping center in Asoke (Bangkok) on Sunday afternoon. They expressed their displeasure on banners and by raising three fingers, symbolizing 'liberty, equality and fraternity'.
If you live in the Netherlands with your partner, a discount applies compared to a single person. Does this also apply if you, as a Dutch national, live together with a Thai partner (who does not have state pension rights) in Thailand?
