The Netherlands, and Amsterdam in particular, is hard at work preparing for a great Oranjefeest on April 30. The inauguration of King Willem Alexander I must be a memorable event.

Dutch people abroad regret that they cannot be present. The Dutch Association Thailand, department Pattaya will do something about this. Not only for its members, but for all Dutch people in Pattaya and the surrounding area. So also for Dutch tourists.

A gigantic screen will be set up in the Varuna Royal Yacht Club, allowing us to follow all events in the Netherlands live. We organize a spectacular party around it. Just like in the Netherlands, we still have a lot to fill in, but for now the program looks like this.

  • 15.00:XNUMX pm: Live broadcast of Queen Beatrix's abdication, followed by the balcony scene.
  • 16.00 pm : flea market (with games for the children).
  • 18.00 pm: buffet with an Orange color and a bitter beforehand.
  • 18.55 pm: live broadcast of the swearing-in and inauguration of King Willem-Alexander
  • Alexander in the New Church.
  • 20.30 pm: music with a Dutch touch and various performances.
  • 23.00 p.m.: closing.

I would very much like to be kept informed of the activities around the King's Day in Pattaya.

I thought the coronation took place on April 28, and the orange party on April 30. Is this correct?

The abdication and coronation will both take place on April 30. Many places in the Netherlands celebrate Queen's Day on April 27, the future King's Day.

I think the article is very clear. Oranjefeest and Coronation is on April 30. In some places in the Netherlands, the Oranjefeesten have been moved to April 28 because the Orange associations are afraid that they will not attract enough public on April 30. But those places can be counted on one hand.

The Netherlands does not have a “:crowning”. A solemn oath after the abdication of the old queen, both take place on April 30
