If you're traveling to Thailand or elsewhere this summer and decide to seek out some thrills and adventure, it's a good idea to check their first Travel Insurance to check. Of every ten travel insurance policies, four do not cover the risks of dangerous sports at all, three only optionally with the winter sports cover and one only if the cover has been specifically requested.

This is evident from research by Money View, an independent research and benchmarking institute for financial services companies.

It is well known that skiing and snowboarding entail extra risks. Every travel insurance policy includes winter sports cover. But what if during your summer vacation you spontaneously decide to make a bungee jump, go parasailing, kite surfing or try a parachute jump?

If you want to undertake such activities on holiday, it is advisable to first check the conditions of the travel insurance. It usually lists which sports and activities are or are not insured. In order to cover medical costs as a result of practicing a dangerous/adventurous sport, medical costs usually also have to be co-insured. The accident cover (a payment in the event of death or permanent disability as a result of an accident) is explicitly excluded by several providers if this is due to a dangerous sport/activity.

Even if the travel insurance doesn't cover there is still the health insurance, and it just covers, only medical expenses of course.

Up to the level of Dutch healthcare, so you can still be confronted with a bill of thousands of euros. Don't forget that Bangkok Hospital is a private clinic and sometimes charges higher rates than in the Netherlands

For 70 years and older there are a number of travel insurance policies that no longer want to insure you!

When someone reaches the age of 70, they are apparently regarded as a life-threatening species and
the premium is increased by € 140 per month.

In short, make the premiums unaffordable then you will no longer be bothered by those old "Muk" because they are forced to drop out!
And the VGZ will publish today that healthcare can be much cheaper!

The elderly are quite discriminated against not only with pension benefits (see elsewhere) as well
in the field of insurance. Older people who are still illiterate are also less and less taken into account!

Are you sure that the increase of 140 euros per month concerns travel insurance? I can't imagine that at all. Or are you talking about your health insurance?

That was my health insurance, sorry!

My current health insurance is now € 393, = per month with the French Embassy April company.

Coverage of sports are often included as extras.
However, not all travel insurance policies cover one year. So if you go longer, also check the maximum period that you can stay. And also make sure you have world coverage.

    Default is en Europe.
