Travelers who received their Thailand Pass before March and travel from March 1 are entitled to an exception, according to Richard Barrow*.

They do not have to stay in a SHA++ hotel on the fifth day and undergo a PCR test. They can ask for the money back from the hotel booking on the 5th day.

* This has yet to be confirmed in the Royal Gazette.

We had booked for day-5 test on 10-03 in Udon Thani, and have been told that we will get our money back except for 2x 700 Baht administration costs.
I did indicate to wait with canceling until it is official, that was no problem.

Great news, moving in the right direction.

But unfortunately still that separate Covid-19 insurance. Even if you have good Dutch health insurance.

where is that mandatory covid insurance listed then, I only see $ 20.000 health insurance. A few weeks ago there was talk of additional covid insurance for asymptomatic infections, but I can't find anything about it in the conditions for applying for a thailand pass .

Is not mandatory, but if you have to be quarantined all costs for yourself.

Just try to find a company that reimburses the costs in the event of an asymptomatic infection without more. The Thai insurers no longer do that - as decided by the Thai regulator (The Office of the Insurance Commission).
