A young Dutch woman who worked for the United Nations was found with several stab wounds in her home in Phnom Penh (capital of Cambodia) on Monday morning.

Her 19-month-old baby was also seriously injured in the attack. He is in a critical condition in the hospital and will be flown to Thailand as soon as possible because the medical facilities are better there, the official said. The Phnom Penh Post know.

Woman Daphna Beerdsen (31) was found by the family's babysitter lying next to her child in their rented house in Chamkarmon district.

Police say Beerdsen, who worked as a climate change consultant for the UN, died of multiple stab wounds. Her child also showed multiple stab wounds from probably the same weapon.

Police investigate the scene of the murder and suspect robbery as a motive. However, the police found no evidence of a break-in.

Beerdsen had only lived in Phnom Penh for six months with her partner Joris Oele and their 19-month-old daughter. The family had just moved from Thailand where both also worked for the United Nations.
