Spaniard (53) found dead in apartment Pattaya
On the night of July 27, a 53-year-old Spanish man was found dead in the bathroom of an apartment in Pattaya, police said.
The man was found naked lying on his stomach in a pool of blood in the bathroom on the second floor of an apartment at 16 Soi Pattaya Klang, Tambon Nong Phreu of Bang Lamung district.
The victim, who was later identified by his Thai wife, had a deep wound to his right eyebrow. There were no signs of violence, police said. However, 6 empty bottles of beer were found in the room.
His Thai wife, 47, told police she had been in a relationship with the victim for 11 years. The couple also has a 7-year-old daughter but are not officially married. The woman and the man lived apart from each other because the man drank a lot of alcohol, which led to quarrels and relationship problems. Despite this, they called each other every day. When she couldn't get in touch with him on Monday, she got worried and went to his room. Since he did not open the door, she asked the staff to open the door with a spare key. Once inside, they found the man's lifeless body in the bathroom.
The police assume that the man had drunk too much and slipped in the bathroom, hitting the floor with his head. His body is being transported to Bangkok for an autopsy.
