In Pattaya, 25-year-old Dennis T., under the influence of drugs, hit a police officer, attacked several passers-by, destroyed a restaurant and his hotel room.

A waitress from the restaurant Aroi Dee says that the Dutch tourist was under the influence when he entered the restaurant. Five minutes later he would have attacked other visitors and started throwing chairs and tables.

A police officer directing traffic on Second Road opposite Soi 8 and approached the noise, received a slap in the face from the Dutchman and asked for reinforcements from colleagues. Twenty officers were needed to restrain the aggressive man and take him to the station.

Earlier in the evening, the Dutchman is also said to have destroyed his hotel room at The Green Hotel and jumped from the window of his room on the third floor. The man was not injured because he landed on a soft surface.

It's strange, when you have to run amok again in a beautiful country. May they give them a good beating in prison.

You're twenty and you want something. Well he will get that, in Thailand they know what to do with him.

drugs…. and possibly booze. This Dutchman is a good example of how not to do it. I hope he will learn his lesson.

This young man has got it here! Before he comes back home he will be confronted with the Thai solutions for such behavior! It won't be his best days!
We can miss this kind of "tourism" like the plague!
    What a sad soul!

I once experienced a similar scene with a German. His vacation was suddenly extended by 9 years.

    Lots of judges here.

Suppose he is not a drug user at all……..cannot tolerate that stuff……………..
Suppose someone secretly administered something to him…………………….

Unfortunately, under Thai law, you are primarily guilty……………until the tea-money is paid.

If something has "fixed" him, I want to apologize for my perhaps too ill-considered response. The behavior in itself does not deserve any apology.

It's a pity that people react this way without knowing the cause.
We were once fooled in Indonesia by the local mafia by feeding us martabak with magic mushrooms. Goal; easy robbery...my husband suffered the most, bad trip, visions, strange behavior. Fortunately for us, we were not the first to have this happen to us and we received good help from the local government. It's quite difficult to prove that you took it unknowingly. And if you are given drugs unprepared, you can really freak out.
I just want to indicate that there can also be other causes of drug behavior.

What everyone wants. I've written before that all kinds of weirdos go to Thailand who think things
to do things that are not possible in your own country. Of course that is possible, but then you have to have enough money. Driving an expensive Mercedes or in a Porsche and breaking everything possible.
I see driving every week. I even know those heads behind the wheel. Pattaya area.
They go free. What happened to the best man is clear. Battling a police is only
allowed for rich Thai. They were usually not personally present.
So about eight years in Thai prison and he will learn.
I don't feel sorry for that at all.
    Cor van Kampen.

It should be and it is not allowed, but the beaten police officer and colleagues will probably get their revenge on him, no one will see it, at least no cameras in the area and the like

    • Jay says up

From the looks of the blows being dealt, they don't really mind having cameras on them...

  13. ruud says up

For now, the conclusion that he was covered in drugs is only a suspicion of the waitress.
Although there is a reasonable chance of this, it is also possible that he has forgotten to take his medication, for example.

How long he has to be imprisoned will show how deep his pockets or those of his family or acquaintances are willing to pay for this scum. Have heard stories like this before, but if you can provide a few thousand euros in cash, the problem with a direct exit stamp in your passport is quickly resolved.

Now he will have cooled down, but the punishment will be heavy and he is not as comfortable as here in prison, he will notice that they will get him down there, don't feel sorry for it.

Nice (n) fellow countrymen you are, an old people's home is nothing like it....the youth of today...don't make me laugh...that guy had lost his way, clearly, but ended up in a Thai cell for eight to ten years? Go shame yourself!

    • rudy van goethem says up

      Hello.

      @ Aree.

I can't help but agree with you, but how are you going to prove it? Thailand is not really known for being forgiving with this kind of thing.
And certainly not when you start renovating Thai property, and worst of all, a few police officers, who are very highly regarded here, are going to blow a few punches…
It's going to cost him a lot of money, a lot of trouble, and probably a very long extended vacation...

If most of them should take a closer look at the customs and manners of the host country, then a lot can be avoided…

Never go to the toilet in a bar in Pattaya without taking your bottle of beer or something with you, otherwise ask for another one, unopened… never take the nipples of a barlady or ladyboy in your mouth without taking a shower together first… this is good advice for tourists, longer stays know the stories, and also have their favorite pubs where the risk is much less… it may seem trivial, but it is unfortunately true, and this young man may have fallen victim to it, but almost impossible to prove, with all consequences…

I fear for the happy ending…

      Kind regards… Rudy.

Drugs have certainly been put in his drink or food, people don't flip just like that
they have hurt or robbed the boy.
if he's not an addict just think what happened.
I want to tell you always defend your country taken.
good or bad if something happens to them abroad
leave the judgment to the outcome for many went
    through an unexpected event.

  18. Rinus says up

Another example of someone who messes up his life, if he likes to be an example so much then I hope they use him as such to make the rest think.
I spent years in the hospitality industry in Ned and have seen enough misery, when things go wrong it is easy to say that something has been thrown into their drink. Ridiculous.
But what do you want if you come from a country where as a 16 year old boy it is easier to get cocaine in the nightlife than a beer. Talk about ridiculous.
Then I'm not talking about many well-known people (with an exemplary function) who act light-hearted and giggly about the occasional sniff on TV and in other media, even politicians are guilty of this. Just look at their motivation to tackle this problem.
Take as an example that PVDA member Rob Outkerk, who admitted that he sometimes took a sniff and went to the whores. Everyone fell over the fact that he went to the (heroin) whores, no one was talking about him sniffing as a driver.
Of course this boy is a loser, a victim of drug criminals. As far as I'm concerned, you consistently put this last group against the wall. Life on TV.
    Gentle healers make stinking wounds.

Just read in Pattaya One that it is a man with Danish nationality.

  20. Jack S says up

Some do it in a drunken stupor (that old Englishman a few weeks ago) and now this young man under the influence of drugs…
At that point they are not accountable. This man should not be punished, but should be helped. Jail? Ridiculous. He should (if he is addicted) kick the habit and receive further help in a hospital or institution.
It's something different when you do it sober.
The comments from you above me were posted a little too quickly!

    • ruud says up

Assuming he was on drugs, which is just a hunch on the waitress' part and not yet proven.
Then a 25-year-old is old enough to take responsibility for getting himself treated for his addiction.

Being addicted costs a lot of money and you usually can't earn that with work.
Then you will undoubtedly take away the joy of life from many people, to get money for that addiction.
Being addicted does not necessarily mean being insane, at most if your brain has been affected to such an extent that you are begging on the street and you no longer take care of yourself.
In that case, I think imprisonment for theft and other criminal activities is quite appropriate.

I would like to hear the story from Dennis, what exactly happened. Outbursts like this don't come from a few beers. Have previously assisted farangs who have also fought and no longer knew what had happened. After investigation, it turned out that a pill had been put in their drink when he went to the toilet. Look after !!! Dangerous, because these filthy pranks occur daily. Never take stray game into your or her room, because this is where these problems arise. However, what Dennis has done cannot be justified at all, but he will be able to think about it for a long time in a Thai cell. Drugs are Russian roulette here and life-threatening, because there are very long prison sentences. I'm going to see him next week because I'm curious about the true story, and will post this in my next column the Dutch Page, the first week of August

Pattaya…I'm not going there if I can avoid it. A lot of misery, also no coincidence that this had to happen there again. I also find Rudy van Goethem's comment significant…'never go to the toilet in a bar in Pattaya without taking your bottle of beer or something with you', but actually even more beautiful (or sadder) is the statement 'never take the nipples of a barlady or ladyboy in your mouth, without showering together first'

Just some advice between nose and lips to not just put unfamiliar nipples in the mouth. Shows what the standard is then.

    • Aunt Bep says up

Pattaya is indeed not for the faint hearted. So if you are not firmly in your shoes or are mentally unstable, it is better not to go to Pattaya. For the rest, it is less boring here than in the rest of Thailand….

      • Kees says up

For the time being I was under the impression that Pattaya was the final destination for people who are mentally unstable and who are less firm in their shoes

    • rudy van goethem says up

      Hello.

      @ Kees.

As for those nipples, it is a general fact, without generalizing, that some barladies and ladyboys put strong narcotics around their nipples…

But you can also find this in Bkk and other places in Thailand. So this is certainly not a universal norm here in Pattaye, but it exists, albeit to a small extent. and it will happen to you…Pattaya is certainly no more dangerous or worse than other Thai cities, I feel perfectly safe there even in the middle of the night.

But, leaving this young man's case aside, there are here, I call them the "three week tourists" who really go overboard...they are drunk, and as such easy prey...that's how it is in Thailand, will or not… Just this afternoon in a bar, two drunk Irishmen were yelling at each other, and all the bar chairs started to knock over…

A Thai doesn't like that, on the contrary, but they don't like that in a bar on the coast in Belgium or the Netherlands either.

And your story about drugs, and the easy way to get them in your country is correct…

But you forget to tell a case, walk here under the influence, and half your household effects, and what cops are beating is just begging for trouble…

Thailand has a non-zero tolerance when it comes to drugs, and I once went to visit a friend at the police station detention center in Pattaya on the corner of soi 9 and Beachroad… the best thing is to have rubber boots, and sometimes you get also… some imagination, and you can guess why…

In the case of this young man, a wad of money can help somewhat, but those beatings to police officers were too much, and he has probably already received more than that in return…

Police checks are getting stricter, rightly so, so think before you leap, and no one here is surprised by someone with a drink through their nose, Thais also like a good deal, but if you see fights here, it is almost always between tourists, or a tourist against a Thai, which is about the dumbest thing you can do…never seen Thai fight each other here…

I hope for a decent settlement for the young man, which I highly doubt… it will be a lesson for him that he will not soon forget!

      Kind regards… Rudy.

Regularly hear stories from other countries, where putting drugs in your drink is normal. Several girls have already died of it. So don't immediately give your opinion!

  23. Michel says up

Clearly a case of yaba. I've seen often enough.
Guests who use mdma/ecstasy and/or speed at home and then think yaba is also a good idea in TH. However, the operation appears to be "slightly" worse.
I wish him strength in the coming years, in the BKK-Hilton.

  24. Gerrit11 says up

In my eyes there is more going on than 1 pill. This is someone who used a little more and got the wrong effect in combination with alcohol. Someone of 25 alone on holiday in Pattaya, that is not a beginner.
Kwa punishment, he can think about that in the coming years, that is never tender.
In that car he already sobered up nicely, now the next day he can lick his wounds.
    dumbass.
