Yesterday 11.060 international tourists arrived in Thailand
Yesterday, 11.060 international tourists arrived at the airports in Thailand, which is a new daily record. Of these, 9.568 tourists came under the Test & Go program (10 tested positive), 1.256 used the Sandbox scheme (2 tested positive) and 236 went into quarantine (4 tested positive).
So far this month, 122.363 tourists have arrived. In November there were 133.061. Most tourists come from Germany, UK, Russia, UAE, France, Sweden, US, Singapore, Norway and Israel.
The number of positive tested:
- November: 0,13%
- December: 0,18%
Saw in a posting in this blog that the Dutch were number 3 in terms of visitor numbers in November.

Suspect that it will also be the case in December, but that “people” do not know the Netherlands, perhaps there is a recent overview somewhere regarding December?
What I don't understand is how do those people get positive when they get on a plane with a negative result. (a required PCR test by the Thai government)
Will they be infected en route by staff during those 12 hours of flight or were they already positive on departure and cannot yet be measured?
It takes a few days to a week before the virus can be detected and you can be infected before you are tested in the Netherlands and then test negative even though you already have it. Or in the 72 hours before departure after the last Covid test, and you can become infected during the trip. And the PCR tests are not 100% reliable. And so you easily explain these minute positive cases upon arrival in Thailand.
Here in Bali, about 20,000 tourists come this month, but from other islands, normally that is a lot more.
We are talking about domestic tourists here.
From January to October, a total of 45 foreign visitors came.

Arrived yesterday via Dubai, very busy. Transfers to the hotels were arranged very chaotically, but in the end everything turned out well (including the test). Wonder if they will scale up with the upcoming holidays, if not it could really be something for people arriving in the coming days.
