The Dutch cabinet wants to take a decision on the introduction of a vaccination certificate at the beginning of June, writes outgoing Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge in a letter to parliament.

The vaccination certificate can then still be aligned with the European regulation on which the vaccination certificate is based before the summer holidays.

The vaccination certificate must ensure that the Dutch can travel again. The proof will be available in an app and there will be a paper version for people without a smartphone. With a QR code – the so-called Digital Green Certificate – people can demonstrate that it is safe for them to travel. This may be because they have either been vaccinated, or have had a negative PCR test, or have enough antibodies after a previous infection. With a vaccination certificate, people will soon be able to visit events in the Netherlands. They no longer need to be tested. With such proof, people may no longer have to be quarantined if they have been in a high-risk area.

The intention is that a negative test certificate and a vaccination certificate will soon be on the same app. The green tick should not indicate which of the two it concerns, for the sake of the privacy of the app user and to avoid an indirect compulsion to vaccinate. This does not apply to international travel.

What Hugo de Jonge is preparing is intended for the Netherlands. In Europe, the European Commission is working on a similar initiative, also in app form. Several countries already have similar solutions, was seen in Nieuwsuur last night. The EC's is intended for Europe. I predict that many questions will now be asked whether the relevant apps also entitle you to entry options for Thailand. So no. Unless Thailand recognizes the EC's solution/app, or that, for example, the WHO/UN also comes up with an idea. By the way, entering Thailand will take months and months now that infections are emerging here and there and the Thai governments are reacting very panicked. In recent weeks, regional officials have put forward all kinds of plans to re-enthuse tourists for a holiday on Thai beaches. They have denied that Thailand cannot escape corona disorder either.

Yes I read about having built up enough antibodies. But how do you show that. I was in Dipolog Philippines from January 8 to March 7, 2020. Been very ill for a few weeks and definitely had the covid-19 symptoms. I have not consulted a doctor, but I have taken parecetemol in combination with voltaren. After that no more pain.
But how do I get proof of sufficient antibodies?
Does anybody have experience with this?
    Regards Anthony

This can be done through a blood test.

Coincidentally saw a message on German TV yesterday evening where criminals offer the yellow vaccination booklet already stamped with the two vaccinations, signature and stamp.
That is why I personally believe that it makes no sense at all for each country to start cooking its own soup, but that the WHO should work for its own international proof, which is not easy to falsify, and which will also be accepted worldwide.
The WHO International Yellow Vaccination Booklet, which most of us are now familiar with, is no longer child's play for a criminal looking to make a quick buck to counterfeit.

I still have an old-fashioned mobile phone, a Nokia, and I want to keep it that way. So unfortunately I don't have an app and what now.

    Greetings Henri

    • Good reading helps you avoid asking unnecessary questions, this is stated in the text: The proof will be available in an app and there will be a paper version for people without a smartphone.
