Illegal dumping of medical waste in Pattaya
The Pattaya city government has ordered a company to remove 100 tons of medical waste from a depot at Khao Maikaew, which had been deposited there without permission.
Only after loud protests from the local population, because they feared poisoning of the groundwater, did the client Nightingale Health Care Ltd. start. spraying disinfectant liquid on the waste and transporting the hazardous, disease-causing waste to a waste incineration site in Nakhon Sawan province.
Because a specialized company was needed for this and only seven tons of waste can be cleared per trip, the removal takes at least 1 month. Councilor Banchar U-dong told the city of Pattaya not to take the problem seriously. The city has enough money to deploy several trucks. It is also not clear why the hazardous waste was not immediately taken to the right place of destination.
The residents informed the media that another entrepreneur had previously removed the medical waste for incineration elsewhere, but that the contract had expired. Because no other company was involved, this gigantic hazardous waste mountain was created.

And from which hospital was (is) this waste? And will they pay for the costs? Or does the origin have to be found out first? It's actually outrageous that this is possible.

Am I crazy or is the company financially responsible for waste processing and not the municipality. There is a common interest in connection with the pollution, but primarily the company should pay for the costs.
