Arrests of freelancers in Pattaya following British news
After a broadcast in England about Pattaya as “Sin City”, the local authorities have set to work energetically. More than 20 women and transgender people of different nationalities were arrested.
A check was carried out in the early hours of Friday, specifically on this target group. In addition to Thai ladies, foreign women were also arrested, mainly from Uganda and Madagascar. They are all suspected of offering “certain services” to foreign tourists.
The various data were examined and recorded in the police station. Of course it was checked whether the foreign ladies had a residence permit for Thailand. For the time being, these actions will continue until the nuisance has disappeared.
From: Pattaya Mail
Another typical action for the stage. The Thai ladies are fined, I think 300 baht, and then allowed to go again. I don't think they'll lose any sleep over that.
well, that used to be done with the streetwalkers in The Hague and other big cities.
Occasionally a few would be rounded up, held for a while and then released when the night of earning was over.
Oh well, and the other day the police just drove past greetings.
Yesterday I witnessed how they did a check through soi 6. Well, the girls talk to the police. Everyone knows what happened, but if you walk neatly and sit nicely with a drink outside at the bar.
We went to Pats for a night out with friends at the beginning of this year. Compared to our last visit, 2 years ago, we noticed a few things.
1/ The large number of “freelancers” on the beach promenade. My wife made 2 statements that stayed with me: “Very bad times here, many more girls than men, and that in high tourist season.” and “The only Thai men here are the policemen.” 🙂
2/ Dozens of black African ladies who offered “freelance” services. Product of human trafficking?
3/ A dozen long-legged “freelance” ladies with strikingly pale skin whom I, as a Western European man, associate with (corners of?) the former Soviet Union. Russian tourists in overstay? Or product of human trafficking?
Police check on residence permit! And the work permit? Superfluous, after all, prostitution is legally prohibited in Thailand. Handy for pimps and hermandad, right? 🙂
Consequently, the explanation for the police actions obviously does not lie in a dispute over “teamoney” between the pimps and the hermandad. “For now, these checks will continue until….” TIT
Yes hello, naughty ladies who just go along with strange men well well that is not possible, it is a good thing that there is a warning in the UK and I hope in the rest of Europe too.
Imagine arriving there in Pattaya to quietly enjoy the view of the sea and yet you are suddenly attacked by all kinds of ladies you don't know at all and who want something from you, it's too much bah for words of course.
Look, something like this doesn't happen in the UK and in the rest of Europe, of course, so it's good that it is spoken of as a shame and that drastic action by the local authorities also follows, we'll get it, it can't all be like this... …
Happy that next time I can travel completely safe and undisturbed to Pattaya, great relief.
what is the name of this program, and when and on which channel was it broadcast?
If I'm right, it's not about a (TV) broadcast, but about two publications, in The Sun and in The Mirror.

But according to the police chief, there is no prostitution in Pattaya, is there? Or were these 'little incidents' that 'otherwise never occur'?
Unfortunately, throughout Thailand you see more and more black and white 'ladies' who try to earn money with their bodies.
I really wonder if there are men who actually take those ladies to their room. It seems to me that the sex tourist also does not come to Thailand for the black or white 'ladies', but more for the Thai, smaller and usually slimmer variety.
In any case, I am not happy about those black women and Eastern European / Russian 'ladies' who nowadays accost you everywhere in the tourist areas for a private sports evening and night.
I think the police can act hard and a lot against that. As far as I'm concerned, those 'ladies' don't belong in Thailand, and shouldn't bother people here at all.
As far as the Western (sex) tourist is concerned, you are probably right, they will often opt for a Thai lady for company. But more and more non-Western tourists are coming to Pattaya, many of them from countries in the Middle East and they may have a different preference. In addition, some Thai men are not 'averse' from Russian or Ukrainian company. Incidentally, supply is determined by demand all over the world. The fact that you don't get excited about named ladies is your business but irrelevant. For example, some are annoyed by anyone who offers themselves for an erotic experience, others by a specific group, such as 'kathoeis', gays, Russians or whatever. 'So many people, so many sentences' and 'Live and let live' is my motto. And by the way, I agree with Khun Peter that many actions by the Thai authorities are a blot for the bleeding and only aim to (apparently) look good.
The BBC already paid attention to this years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJEqAdQ9_EM
.
Estimate that it is back in the picture after the recently shot dead Briton in his Porsche.
.
These kinds of BBC reports are a quickly forgotten PR glitch for which the Thai hermandad will temporarily stage a play.
Fake news is a daily occurrence. I don't believe in the hermandad anymore.
I always feel sorry for the non-Thai nationals who prostitute themselves on the street: they have a good chance of being put in the immigration detention center for years if they are caught.
Hello
Not only in pattaya Do you see more and more ladies who sell their soul and salvation to western men
I was in bangkok in november and there too you see a strong name of ladies who offer their services. So I thought go to Ko Chang I had already been there 6 years ago Was very quiet then ladies but also on this island you see more and more ladies who sell their heart and soul to tourists it seems as if thailand is increasingly divided into two of audience has on the one hand the families who want a beach holiday and on the other hand the gentlemen who are looking for a nice thai lady for fun i have been to thailand about 8 times now as a backpacker but diat is dying race
Just my opinion: If, in addition to the extremely light fines for the exercisers, they also hand out fines, and preferably hefty ones, to the customers, it would become noticeably less attractive for many.
I am now back for one month from a 7 week holiday in Thailand ( Pattaya ) ,
but I must confess that I have never seen so many girls along the Beach .
And it will become more and more, I wonder what will happen then.
These actions make little sense because it has been mopping with the tap open for years. The ladies receive a small fine and immediately go back to score, with all the associated risks for the customers. Experienced too many so-called suicides of men who picked up streetwalkers. Don't do big risk!!
