The government has found that prices for locally produced rubber have risen to THB 90 per kilogram, marking the highest level in seven years.

This announcement was made by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin during his official visit to Germany. He highlighted the positive developments for Thai rubber producers and expressed his hope for a continued price increase of Thai rubber, driven by the growing global demand for natural rubber.

Prime Minister Srettha emphasized the importance of increasing production by area and mentioned that agriculture experts from both the government and the Pheu Thai Party are looking for methods to improve productivity. He indicated that this can be achieved by implementing precision agriculture, using proper fertilization techniques, and promoting the export of Thai rubber to Malaysia.

In addition, Srettha indicated that he was reluctant to use Thailand only as a transit country. He referred to a recent report about more than a hundred trucks loaded with rubber intended to be transported to Myanmar via Thailand, which was ultimately not allowed due to uncertainties regarding their final destination.

He concluded by noting that, thanks to a strong government sector that counters the import of illegal rubber, there is significant potential for further rubber price increases.

At this time, this season, rubber prices are always high because there is hardly any harvest. The rubber prices are structurally very low. We have to wait and see what prices will do when some rain comes again.

Here in Chaiyaphum, we get THB 28,50 per kilo.
I don't understand where those high amounts come from.

Are you quite on the wrong side of that price indication Proppie

      Quote from https://www.statista.com/statistics/1447543/thailand-natural-rubber-price/

In the second half of 2023, the price of natural rubber in Thailand was THB 47,85 per kilogram. The lowest price of natural rubber during the surveyed period was spotted in the first half of 2020 at THB 37,45 per kilogram.

Just think that this PM is trying very hard to increase his popularity among the general population.

Check the Thai Rubber Association, the average price on the 15th of this month is 85 baht per kg, it was 75 baht at the beginning of this month. Think the price in Chaiayphum is the price that is offered, then look for someone who pays the right price and does not let the middlemen earn too much by just trading and not producing.

see the link with current prices and information from the Thai Rubber Association:

I notice very little movement on the rubber plantations here. The pots for the shelter even hang tilted on the trees.

I see that most rubber farmers here no longer find it worth the personnel costs to tap rubber every morning. Many hope that their trees will soon grow thick enough to cut them down and sell the wood. Termites wouldn't like it too much. In the absence of (expensive) hard teak, rubber wood (mai yaang) is an alternative.
