Reader question: I am looking for a workplace for an experienced Thai masseuse in the Rotterdam region
Dear readers,
I live and work in Rotterdam and my Thai girlfriend works as a masseuse in Thailand. We want to get married early next year and have my girlfriend come to the Netherlands. But without work for her it will be difficult to find her footing here.
That is why I would like to ask if there are readers among the Thai residents of Rotterdam who know a workplace for an experienced Thai masseuse, possibly with a work permit application, which makes integration even easier and gives her enough time to learn the Dutch language.
Is there anyone who works as a masseuse in the Rotterdam region, or a Dutch person who has experience with this, I would like to hear from you.
Applying for a long-term residence permit with a work permit is the way in which the Chinese community is growing so fast in Rotterdam, this way you avoid the integration rules and my partner has time to integrate, but also has direct contact with other Thai, her own activities and it becomes easier to get used to Dutch society, with a better chance of success.
So who can help us?
Yours faithfully,
Ruud
It's not really close but not really far either. “SawatdeeSpa” in Tiel. Very attractive Spa with a super luxurious interior. When you walk in, the warm blanket comes over you as you are used to in Thailand. Dutch management and not unimportant to mention, 100% clean! Have a look at the site: http://www.sawatdeespa.nl
It is better to start your own salon
Hello Ruud,
I don't know if there are any vacancies, but try Sabayjai on the Rotterdamseweg in Schiedam. A supposedly very friendly, knowledgeable Thai lady started this business a few years ago. You can easily google the case.
Good luck, Rob
my advice is, look around a bit, you can find addresses on the internet and in the major newspapers, find a house that you feel comfortable with. they are always looking for girls.
Hi Ruud,
I have a Thai Reflex Massage practice in Hellevoetsluis. I have been trying to obtain a work permit for an employee from Thailand for almost 2 years. UWV is obstructive and it is now before the court. The big problem with Thai Reflex massage is the sticker that is already stuck on it by anyone without any knowledge of the matter (read most Dutch people who have never visited Thailand). Very quickly this is placed in the erotic corner. And with more than 600.000 unemployed people in the Netherlands, the UWV states that no special training is required to provide Thai Reflex Massage (literally, they say, it is unskilled work). I think you can already see the mood. From that narrow view, anyone with little instruction is, in their opinion, suitable to perform this type of work. And so the unemployed pot must first be emptied before a search can be conducted in the outside Schengen area and a work permit can be issued. So I don't give you much of a chance to achieve it that way. Somewhere between now and 4 months I will have my dispute with the UWV in court for settlement and hopefully the independent judge will be in my favor. All in all, it will take more than 2 years for everything to be completed, so I don't recommend this route. Good luck.
I'm afraid they won't get a work permit, an employer who has a vacancy must first look in the Netherlands, then in Europe and if all that fails, then from outside the EU. Even Asian cooks are difficult to deal with now, although they are cautiously making adjustments because good staff are not easy to find within Europe. But a masseuse? Those vacancies are filled in no time, but ask the IND if you want or check their website with brochures:
He writes about (regular) work permits:
“If you want to work in the Netherlands, a work permit or a combined permit for residence and work usually has to be applied for by the employer. Both applications assess whether 'an essential Dutch interest' is being served. This means that the employer has not been able to find suitable personnel in the Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe. ”
Source: https://ind.nl/Documents/3077.pdf
If you want to get out of the civic integration requirement, you will have to do the “Europe route”. Or go through the regular partner migration process (TEV), in which case a marriage has no added value. Once in the Netherlands you will probably find a massage parlor in the area (Gouden Gids, Google) or another job (for example the greenhouses in the Westland). Good luck with the preparation and good luck!
Dear Ruud,
As already indicated by Berry, we are constantly looking for Thai masseuses for our beautiful and still fairly new salon in Tiel. Take a look at our website and contact us by phone if you are interested.
This also applies to all other Thai masseuses who are looking for a flexible and part-time job as a masseuse.
Hello Ruud,
I myself regularly come to Dordrecht at Siwocco Welness. A neat business with a very friendly appearance. Not far from Rotterdam. It sometimes changes personnel there and, moreover, they may want to expand to the Rotterdam region. Ask for Pla de Grauw, the owner. http://Www.siwocco.nl
