Thailand's cabinet has approved new tax measures to attract skilled workers to the country. This initiative, which runs until the end of 2029, is aimed at bringing back Thai talents and boosting economic growth.
How can my girlfriend get a job in Bangkok again?
I would like to know how my girlfriend can get a job again in Bangkok. Can the SSO help her with this or another agency and where can there be offices in Bangkok for employment?
In Thailand, foreigners (farang) are not allowed to work without a work permit, either as an employee or as a self-employed person. This applies in most countries to protect their own labor market and to grant employment to their own nationals.
I am writing this reader question on behalf of my friend. I am looking for work for him here in Belgium, the wider region of Turnhout. My boyfriend was a massage therapist in Bangkok, but due to Covid-19 and the lockdown in Thailand, he recently lost his job, the massage parlor where he worked has closed its doors. Because there are no prospects in Thailand for him to find other work now, I would like to give him the opportunity to come here and let him work here.
I want a job…..in Thailand!

I am looking for temporary work in Thailand
I am looking for temporary work in Thailand. I don't really care what. Anyone has a suggestion? Know that a permit is required in Thailand, do not want to do anything illegal and fully comply with Thai law. Besides, I respect the Thai.
Working in a branch of a multinational in Bangkok?
I work for a large multinational with offices all over the world. I myself work for the branch in the Netherlands, but would like to work in (and not for) the branch in Bangkok. So not employed by the Bangkok branch, but remain employed by the Dutch branch. And just pay tax in the Netherlands. In fact I only use “office space”.
Working in Thailand, is that possible?
The editors of Thailandblog regularly receive questions from readers about the possibility of working in Thailand. We can be quite brief about the answer: 'not possible, unless'.
Reader question: After a long journey through Southeast Asia, I met the love of my life in Thailand. I've decided that I really want to be with her, and even though I'm personally not much of a believer in marriage, I suppose this is our only chance to really be together. I myself am 26 years old, she is 44. She has an excellent resume, but isn't she too old for the Belgian job market?
Welfare Card: Thai minimums receive an education
Thai people living below the poverty line receive a welfare card from the government. The card entitles you to purchase discounted items in Thong Fah Ratcha Rat shops, transport by train and bus and the purchase of butane gas. An amount is credited to the card every month. The second phase is that holders of the card can sign up for education/training in order to increase their chances of (better-paid) work.
The 2017 Adecco Salary Guide for Thailand
Do you sometimes think: what can you earn as a Thai employee in the business world? Or, if you are an employer: What should I pay in salary for such and such a position? I am not an employer nor looking for a job in Thailand, but I found it interesting to browse Adecco's new salary guide for Thailand.
Bullshit jobs and things that go differently here
In my blog about the Grote Beurt I already wrote about the man at the garage who shows you where you can park and who helps you back on the road with a lot of whistling and gestures. You also have such an official in Thailand at many hotels, restaurants and official institutions such as banks. At banks you also have someone who opens the door for you, welcomes you, and takes a serial number from the machine for you. And in many shops, after the cash register, at the exit, there is someone who checks your receipt and stamps it. Sometimes there is even someone who walks with you to put the groceries in the car.
If I work in Thailand, do I have to pay Alien Income Tax of 30.000 Baht/month? Someone told me that and I had never heard of it.
My name is Arnoud, I have a Thai girlfriend from Surin for 3 years now. A few weeks ago she came to the Netherlands for the first time to go on holiday. And she loved it here! She would now like to work here for a year or more before we continue to build our future in Thailand. How do we handle that?
My Thai son-in-law (17 1/2 years old) and niece (over 17) who live with me say that it is very difficult to find a part-time job. What is your experience with teenagers and side jobs?
