Question about old age pension
Dear readers,
I spend 6 months a year in Thailand and 6 months in the Netherlands. I have not deregistered in the Netherlands and am insured in the Netherlands. During those 6 months, stay with my girlfriend in Thailand. Do I have to report this to the SVB? Am not married.
Regards,
Kim (66 years old)
This had to be done before the BEU treaty with Th took effect; otherwise you would lose the right to benefits and go back to the 50% payment of the minimum wage. Now there is the BEU treaty, but the SVB has the right to check your form of residence. I would advise you to submit this to the SVB in writing; then you will receive an answer on paper or via MYNSVB and it is fixed.
For the NL law, CQ, the SVB, you may not stay away from NL for longer than eight months.
Otherwise you are not entitled to the NL health insurance law …….
Whether that is reasonable ………..it is no different.

As long as you are registered at a Dutch address and indeed live there and are not married in Thailand, you do not have to report anything. But if you are in doubt, the SVB is the right address for information. Don't say that you are already "hibernating" in Thailand, but that you are that plan and want to know the consequences.
I read it as follows: you live in NL for 6 months and are on holiday for 6 months.
Why make it difficult? SVB does not know where you are on holiday, so you cannot be caught.
But apart from that, you live together exactly half the year, so you don't have a problem:
https://www.judex.nl/rechtsgebied/uitkeringen-sociale-zekerheid/algemene-ouderdomswet/tips-and-tricks/aow-en-lat-relatie-let-op/ the following:
“If you spend more than half of the time together, which can be at two addresses, you run a joint household.”
6 months is half…. so I don't think this applies.

This does not apply to people with state pension who both have independent accommodation. Picked it out for my old dad who was left alone 2 days a week for fear of being cut while he and his girlfriend prefer to be together all the time but both don't want to give up their homes.
When I was still registered in the Netherlands, I first sorted out, then at their office. They told me then, if you are longer than. If you leave for 3 months, I must notify them in writing, because they want to know whether you are going to a treaty country or not. If not, they can shorten or withhold it
I have now been deregistered, if I go to the Netherlands for a few months, I will also report this on my SVB with DigiD.
I have to, because by then I have to send my proof of life, unfortunately I am allowed to do it there once a year in the Netherlands.
That's why I also ask if I can postpone or can do it earlier.
A little effort and you're out of trouble.
They've approved it for 12 years.
The SVB does not do 8-4 months, the GBA does.
SVB 3 months or longer away, they want to know which country
I'd report it. I've had something like this myself. In good faith, my husband and I have been staying in Thailand for 7 months since T years. Then I was cut back on my AOW and canceled for health insurance and was considered to have emigrated. According to the SVB, you were only allowed to be abroad for 6 months minus 1 day per year. Fortunately, everything turned out well and now I just pass on my data with a copy of the ticket. Normally if you do NOT receive a benefit from a few things you can leave for 8 months.
https://www.svb.nl/int/nl/aow/
I used to always give an E-Mail to the SVB that I cannot receive any mail at the address in Europe I specified for a certain period of time.
Which also means that I can't reply to their mail.
The SVB, without me having the obligation to say exactly where I went on holiday, always found this notification more than sufficient.
Dear Kim, you are in Thailand for 6 months per year, is that one continuous period of 6 months or are there several periods with a total duration of 6 months? You do not have to report a holiday of 3 months (13 weeks) to the SVB at all. However, if you also receive an AIO supplement with your AOW benefit, the period of 3 months is also the maximum permitted duration of stay outside the Netherlands. If you want to go on holiday outside Europe with an AOW benefit (without AIO supplement) for longer than 3 months, you are officially obliged to report this to the SVB, with permission for a duration of 6 months (26 weeks) in principle. will be given. Assuming that you have your own accommodation in the Netherlands, staying with your girlfriend in Thailand will have no consequences for the amount of your state pension. You then fall under the 'two-home rule'. For your peace of mind, you could request this information in writing from the SVB, which Henk Hollander also indicates to you. Enjoy your holiday with your Thai girlfriend!
Since I saw Karel's response regarding AOW living together or not 2018,2019 /

I thought has something changed?
So I went straight to their website. Today, I got a little anxious
Since I have also indicated in writing that I live together with more than 2 adults.

They had come to me for a checkup 2 years ago.
It remains the same as a single allowance for now.
Did something wrong.
