Reader question: Who knows good restaurants and catering with live music in Hua Hin?
Dear readers,
I stay in Hua Hin in February 2015. Who can give me good addresses of restaurants and places where live music is played?

If you cross at the train station and drive on, you will see a luk name pub after a few kilometers. Lots of Thai and little farang. Very nice if you go with Thai friends

Sawasdee on the Hilton is a must. Despite being touristy, authentic Thai cuisine. Pricier than others, but…great. Been coming for 14 years now. Itsara, on the water is also great with mostly Thai guests. Professional approach. Super! Deep fried seabass with salt!
As far as live music is concerned, only 1 address: THE saxophone lounge. Soi 94. Incredible rock and blues. One of the guests has played with the Who and Eric Clapton. Amazing. And… a beer 59 baht!

A little further on in Cha Am, the Crab Pulling Festival takes place every year in February. This happens on a large square located directly on the beach and here you will find dozens of food stalls and there is a large stage with live music. I have not been able to find out the exact date, but we have been there for several years in a row. There is also a small-scale night market here and it is very pleasant every year. Have fun!

If you walk across the narrow street opposite the Hilton hotel, you will arrive at a crossroads after about 60 metres. Murpy's is an Irish pub with good live music.
