Dear readers,

I am going to Thailand with my wife in October. Here I want to enjoy the sun on the beautiful islands that Thailand has to offer. Which islands can you recommend us in terms of weather (as it can be rainy season)?

Where is the average chance of sun in October, is that the side of Krabi (Lanta, Phi Phi etc) or Pangang, Koh Samui or the islands close to Cambodia (Koh Chang, Mak, Koh Samet)?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

John

The rainy season comes to an end in October. Phuket is a beautiful destination. The story that you have less rain on Samui in the rainy season is completely untrue. In October they only start up again on all those islands, while Phuket receives tourists all year round. If you wish more information for a stay in Phuket http://www.bedandbreakfastinphuket.com

Went to the South last October.
Did a tour along a few islands in Krabi and on Koh Phangan and Koh Samui.
All with snorkeling. Great to do.

I don't quite understand what ERIC means by his piece.
I live on Samui , and while the weather is hard to predict, it starts here
the rainy season normally in September and lasts until the end of November.
But the weather is messed up worldwide and so is Thailand.
Last year the rainy season lasted until mid-January.
It also rained heavily in July and August. Lots of depressions and hurricanes
from the Pacific Ocean, which still had influence in Thailand.

Agree, lived here for nine years now but the weather here doesn't really play by the rules. Now it is always somewhere between 27 and 35 degrees here, so no cool period. But what is the best time, so no rain I dare not say.

Best chance of dry weather in the SW of Thailand.
South of Phuket the best : Koh Lanta
    But it can be!

True or not but Koh Samet is the driest island of Thailand in the rainy season !!
How often does it happen that 80 km away in Pattaya the manhole covers come up and on Samet not a drop.
But as said the weather is very confused and it can only be the other way around !!

Koh Lanta is often sunny during the day and rain at night in October
been living here for 10 years and when you are here come to Black Coral Restaurant on
the Klong Dao Beach then I can tell about Koh Lanta over a drink
